Teach me to let go of the small stuff! (invitations issues)
Teach me to let go of the small stuff!I got my invitations this weekend. Not very happy! The ink color on the outside is a little lighter than the ink color on the inside and the inserts. We used vellum paper on the outside and I guess it prints lighter on that. But still, I am upset! My fiance and parents are fine with the invites... they say it's very subtle and even if people do notice, it doesn't look bad. The printers are closed for 2 weeks and if we wait until they re-open and have them re-do the front of the invites, that may delay us almost 3 weeks. It's not like they got any of the names or dates wrong... so help me learn to let go! I can't get this crazy about everything otherwise nothing will get done.
Here is a photo. You can see that the outside is pink and the inside is dark red.

I think they are beautiful and didn't notice if you hadn't have told us

That's true, no one else will overanalyze colors of a wedding invitation (or if they do, they hopefully will keep their mouth shut)!I'm just annoyed because we should get the product we paid for!! Why would I want the outside color to not match the inside color?!

well thats something you can def take up with the printers - maybe you can get a little money back, but I wouldn't worry about re-doing them! They look great IMO

Re: Teach me to let go of the small stuff! (invitations issues)
something similar happened to me (the color of our invites was lighter than the color it was supposed to be and didn't exactly match the other cards and our std's). i was worrying about it and obsessing about it so much and even had the company re-run the print job 2 times and they always came out the same. in the end, i brought an invite into work and showed a friend--i let her look at it and tell me if she could see anything wrong (before i said anything) and she really couldn't figure it out. so, i just went with it, but the company did agree to give me a 15% discount!the truth is, people will look at the date, time, location and then put it aside. don't worry about it! i think these sort of things only brides obsess about!
btw...your invites are VERY pretty!

Thanks bensgirl! It's just that we spent so much time designing the invites and then something so small ruins the whole thing for me! Anyway, thanks again for sharing your experience. As other posters said, I doubt anyone will notice or care.Welcome New Vendors
