I made a major faux pas
My FH's good friend from college is divorced and remarried now for at least 6 years. Her email address at her former company was with hubby #1's last name. I always thought of her with that last name not really considering whether it was her new married name, her maiden name or what not.Well.....I sent the wedding invitation addressed to Mr. and Mrs. (ex-hubby's name)!!!!!!! I feel so bad!!!!!! To make matters worse, the new hubby isn't crazy about her friends and rarely hangs out with us. UGG. I feel like a total idiot.

UGGGHHH
Why don't you leave them a message apologizing for the honest mistake and tell them a new invite is in the mail.

Re: I made a major faux pas
It happens- I would call her up and apologize and tell her to tell her husband how sorry you are and that it was accidental- blame it on bride brain- I'm sure that they will understand

Re: I made a major faux pas
Yikes. I almost had a similar situation...my dads cousin is remarried, and his new wife kept her last name. I almost addressed the invite to the first wifes first name and the second wife's last name...thankfully I realized it at the last minute.

Re: I made a major faux pas
I would tell her to try to get the mail first for the next few days and throw away the envie before he sees it... just to try to not have any drama start

Re: I made a major faux pas
Yikes!I sent an invite off of FMIL's list to Mr. & Mrs. Fick (but I really meant 'd', not an 'f') Roberts. They sent the RSVP back as Mr. & Mrs. Richard Roberts.....

Re: I made a major faux pas
Awww, that is an honest mistake and anyone could have done that. I would just apologize and move on. I am sure she and he will forgive you.

Yeah, maybe you should call and apologize, but I think you may need to speak to her hubby too...

Re: I made a major faux pas
Im sure if you explain, they will understand. I did something similar where I sent to my parents friends Fran and Ed but I addressed it to Fred. I'm so embarrassed and I didn't notice until afterwards

Why don't you leave them a message apologizing for the honest mistake and tell them a new invite is in the mail.
I would definitely do that, and I would send a new one . . . . that will make it funny, and is a nice touch for the new hubby . . . .I would let her know it's because of the email address (which, by the way, why not change??) hahaha.
