need major hotel help! a bit long
ok so I blocked off rooms at the Glen Cove Mansion for my wedding. I only blocked off 10 rooms for the night of the wedding b/c I was not sure how many people were staying and The Glen Cove Mansion only lets you block 10 at a time. AND if you block rooms there and no one books them YOU are responsible for paying for the empty rooms. So I figured we could add rooms later once we found out how many people were staying. My invites went out last week and so I called the mansion today and they tell me that 8 of my 10 rooms are booked. So I said OK I would like to add another 10 rooms.. and they say we are almost completely full and only have 3 rooms left! OMG!!! I do not know what to do. My guests will be calling and there will be no rooms. It is partly my fault. I should have just booked 20 rooms to begin with, but I was worried that people would not stay and then I would be stuck paying for extra rooms. UGH! Now I am calling around to see if there are rooms at other hotels and there really are not. Why? well it turns out that the US open is that week! I have tried the Inn at Great Neck, The Andrew, Adria Ramada and the Roslyn Claremont. Anyone have any other suggestions for hotels near the Swan Club??? I feel like I am screwed. HELP please!

We are getting married at Sans Souci- down the road from you- and our guests are staying at the laquinta in garden city- they let you book as many rooms as you like at a time & they also have a shuttle if you book 15 rooms, they will transport your guests

Re: need major hotel help! a bit long
good luck!!! i had the same agida. its so hard to estimate how many ppl would stay over when it's months away. our hotel is booked too, so now we have 10 in a hotel across the way. if they're filled too then i don't know - the guests are on their own.that is so annoying/inconvenient about the open!!!!

There is a Fairfield Inn in Syosset, and a Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn near Roosevelt Field mall....maybe try one of those?
