DIY Cardboxes

For girls who had the card boxes, how did you get into them after the wedding?

I really don't want to destroy mine to get into it, but I figured the safest way to make sure they stay in the box is to put the fabric all the way around the box. Any other suggestions???

Re: DIY Cardboxes

What is it made out of? If cardboard, etc, just cut off the bottom.

Re: DIY Cardboxes

I made it from a hat box, it's pretty heavy cardboard, and I am afraid with the fabric on the outside that it'll fray. Oh well...guess this won't be a keeper...

what if you make a large square at the bottom of the box and just put some duct tape over it....then when you get home you just remove the duct tape and you can get tha cards out......noone is gonna see the bottom anyway it doesnt matter what it looks like.....hope that helped

Re: DIY Cardboxes

When I made one for my friend, I wrapped the lid and box separately and then had decorative ribbon around the whole thing... after her wedding, she was able to detach one side of the ribbon from the bottom and just open the lid

Re: DIY Cardboxes

I am making a lock on mine on the top or hinges that I can just open up instead of ruining my box
