Went to a party at SANDCASTLE...Review...
Well we went to a Christening at the Sand Castle last night which was more like a wedding!! My friend is Greek and they do the Christenings up BIG
The place is very pretty (a bit too Medieval for me though). We were late for the cocktail hour so we missed half but the room was pretty and there was A lot of food! The things I tried that were good were the pasta, some chicken dish, shrimp shishkabob and salmon. I didn't like the calamari (too tough) and the dumplings were OK.
The reception was a pretty room (on the top floor). First course was a mozzerella, tomato and eggplant (with a honey mustard sauce). I only ate the mozzerella but I liked it. Second course was pasta..which was good. Third was salad (Ceasar) was good. For dinner I had Prime Rib and FH had Chicken Marsala. Both were very good. Dessert was cake (it was ok) and mini vienese and fruit on each table (I had the tri color Italian cookie and it was REALLY good). They also had (pulled out onto the floor) a popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, cappiccino(sp?), codials, and ice cream bar (with REAL hot fudge) that FH and I both LOVED!!
The DJ was DJ Connection. They were alright (nothing great). The music was OK, not much MCing, and one of the songs skipped badly (I would have been pi**ed if it was my wedding).
The only thing we didn't like was that there was another party going on with a lot of kids (like 13 yrs old and younger).
Overall, the place was nice, the food was good, and the service was very good. They folded your napkin ALL THE TIME, always asked how everything was, got drinks and came around with seconds. I checked out the bathrooms too (that's my fetish) and the one we had was very nice (it was shared with another party though). It was big and very clean with an attendant.
Anyone having their wedding there will not be disappointed with the service or the food. ENJOY

Thanks for the input Betty. My wedding is in 2 months and I am very excited. I also love the way the banquet managers have treated us so far. They are very down to earth and very helpful.Karen
