QOTD 8/7/08

We all know that marriage is the joining of 2 families..but that doesn't always mean we like the family we are marrying into.

What is something about your FIL's that you can't stand? What do you love about them?

if you don't want to answer this question..lurkers maybe...then what vendor are you most excited about seeing in action on your wedding day?

I can't stand when my FMIL gets in the way when i'm cooking. She keeps trying to tell me to do something one way, or cook it like this, this is how i cook that. It drives me nuts..like just let me cook. I know she means well....but my 100% italian grandmother taught me how to cook so i'm pretty sure i know what i'm doing haha

BUT i do love that my FIL's are easy to talk to. Even stuff with work and switching jobs and stuff. They are always willing to listen to me.

I don't like how FIL's never give FH any credit. They have lots of problems with their other 2 children and are ALWAYS talking about them. It would be nice if they acknowledged that FH was the only normal one, every once in a while.
However they are very generous to FH and I and would probably do just about anything for us.

I love that my FIL's really treat me like a daughter and go above and beyond for FH & I.

My FMIL just drives me nuts. But I love her, she is insane which is funny.

i like my in-laws. any gripes i might have ever had with them are largely petty and pass in a moment after my frustration has waned. they treat me more like family than my own extended family. i'm blessed to have them.

I have no complaints about my FIL's, but as to which vendor I am most excited to see in action, it would have to be the flowers. They just set the mood for the day in my opinion!

There's nothing I really don't like about my FMIL except she complains when she doesn't see my a lot - I guess its not a bad thing she just doesn't understand how busy I am when the school year starts.

I really have no true complaints my FILs are pretty awesome

Actually i guess im pretty lucky overall my FIL's are awesome & have no problems wit them at all. I know im boring! But seriously i cant complain.

My fav vendor i cant wait for is my florist. Im so excited to see everything all done & looking gorgeous!

oh where to start about my FILs...they nearly broke up my engagement a second time (the caused the 1st breakup), they put FH down, they dont give him the pay he deserves, they treat their daughters like gold, and FH like crap (meanwhile FSILs are spoiled brats who hide all kinds of crap behind FILs backs)

its so messed up, and FH doesnt see anything wrong with the way he is treated...ridic

I am one of the lucky girls who has a wonderful FMIL. She is the cutest, sweetest lady and I love her. I say it all the time how lucky I am.

FFIL isnt in the picture, hasnt been for over 15 years so I never met him

One thing I love about FILs is they always put family first. They love thier children to death and will do ANYTHING for them. Ever since I started living with FH, they have been so helpful to us BOTH and they really make me feel like I am part of the family....

I wouldn't say there is anything I can't stand about them. FHs family is a lot more traditional than mine so that has been a little difficult to adjust to at times but FILs really don't have a mean bone in thier bodies which I am very grateful for!!!

Definitely when they lecture me about money and when his mom is standing over me watching me cook and telling me that I'm not doing it right. As much as I appreciate the advice, sometimes it is annoying. I already hear it from my parents and then I go to his place and I have to hear it all over again! The joy of having two sets of parents now.

FIL's are awesome people. I love them for the most part. They are very accepting and very generous with us. Totally happy about us getting married. However, even though I love FMIL, at times I don't get how she treats FFIL in public. She'll literally yell at him at times in front of people and I just sit there and stare with this face

i love my fil's! today is my bday and fmil knows fh is away, so she called and offered to take me out to dinner at uncle jacks... WOOHOO

I Love my FIL's they treat me as part of the family however my FH is 1 of 7 children.....so the only thing I absolutely can not stand is when the entire family is together.....you put all 7 kids, spouses, significant others etc together and it's drama, drama, drama!!!!

I can't answer the first question, mainly because there isn't enough room to talk about what bugs me about the FIL's !!!!

I cannot wait to see how everything comes together, our lighting, linens, and flowers, I'm so incredibly excited to see how all the hard work and planning pays off!!

You know what I've always wondered? Why isn't LIW private? I mean, we sign in...It would make me feel a lot more comfortable talking about certain topics and posting pictures (like wedding gowns) if I knew that there weren't any lurkers...although, I guess they COULD very easily create a name.

I won't tell you which FIL ruffles my feathers, but FH's parents are 100% Italian sweethearts. They have welcomed me over for Sunday dinner every weekend since they met me. They would do anything for me and cooked sooo much for our eparty last weekend. I love them to pieces!

My FMIL has nothing normal to talk about. All she ever talks about is her DOGS. I'm a 100% animal lover, but I have plenty more to talk about than my dogs. You guys really have no idea how bad she is.
And YES she is a grandma already, so that is not going to help matters. I love her because she is a wonderful cook. She really makes everything so difficult, nothing ever works out when you make plans with her and she always runs late.
My FFIL is cool laid back.

I have nothing bad to say about my FIL's. They are crazy but they admit that so I guess that's not even a bad thing.
