DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

The bridal party entrance song should be the same song as the parents entrance and that the song should not have words...
ex: verse chrous verse and so on...

(of course my FH and I get a sperate song to walk into and that can have words)

but this kinda pissed me off for we wanted a certian song I was under the impression they keep repeating the chorus or something,...

what did your DJ's tell you?

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

we had a band, and they did one song for the parents (both sets had the same song), one song for the bridal party, and one song for us.

we orig wanted 'lets get it started' for the bp but our band told us because of all the words it doesn't sound so great with introductions but they've done it before and we could still do it if we want. DH decided on a different song instead, but they all had words.

we walked in to 'i'm a believer' (smashmouth version)

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

Your DJ should play whatever you ask them to play. They can play a song at a certain point or play just the middle of the song or whatever. They shouldn't be telling you that you CAN'T do something! You're paying them!

Agreed. Tell them what you want and they should be able to make it work. My DJ did mention something about the BP entrance and the words getting in the way of announcing the name, but he figured it out so we could use what we wanted and not have it sound messy.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

thats BS, they cant tell you what to play. Its one thing to suggest things but they cant tell you that you HAVE to do that.

OUr Dj let us pick whatever we wanted. We had one song for parents entrances, another song for bp entrance and another song for us. All 3 songs had the vocals, and MANY weddings actually most weddings ive been to have done the same.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

All my DJ suggested was that we not use a different song for each couple walking in.

Our parents are walking into the same song. Half of our bridal party is walking into one song, the other half a different song, and we are walking into a third song.

Our DJ ever said we couldn't use songs with words. He pretty much went with whatever we told him.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

We are using 3 songs for the intos as well. It shouldn't matter what is being played beit instrumental or lyrics at the specific moment they are introduced, they can adjust the sound levels so that the sound of the music is distinct yet the introduction is heard properly. It would be pretty sad to think someone in that business couldn't handle that - its what they do

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

Just to clarify....they Didn't say they wont the suggested we do it the way they explained. Maybe it is because of our song choice for the Bridal party which would not be suitable for the parents and the verses of the song aren't really well have anything to do with our bridal party we like the chorus and the words to it that's I think is the issue.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

I thought we should do 1 song for everyone except us. I thought it would be to much but our DJ actually suggested that we do 1 song for each couple to personalize our wedding. I would do what ever you want because you are paying him and it is you day.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

My band did say that we should pick entrance songs with no words. And we have. We are using the same entrance song for all entrances - including ours. The song builds and builds until we come out.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

Our DJ never said anything like that. You're paying them, they should do what YOU want. We used 'Beautiful Day' for our entrance and because I was stuck on which song to use for the BP, they suggested 'What a Feeling' by Eric Lutz which we used...both songs with words. Do what you want...it's their job to make it work, not yours to make theirs easier

no way. it's your wedding and you are putting the music, not them. tell them what you want and that's it.

Re: DJ issue..did anyone else's DJ tell them that

our dj gave no advice - it was 'whatever the bride wanted' which was stressful for me because i only know what i know and i am not the professional and do not do this everyday. i wished i got more suggestions. for example i had two possibilities for the 2nd dance i couldnt decide and i said what do u think to the dj rep who said they are both great choices whatever u want. the day of i still didn't know which one to choose and that day the mc helped me with the decision. thank god its the only thing i was unsure of. how crazy?

anyway, your professional dj is just trying to lead u in the right direction. if you are unsure i'd go with his suggestion but if u were 100% sure with your choices then go for that!

personally we used one instrumental song for parents, bridal party and us but that was our choice!

PS: on the day of - the mc kept asking us if everything was good and he was like 'do u hear all your music choices?!' and he seemed so proud and happy and i was like 'yeah its great thank you!!' but the truth is you are so numb and so happy and so busy you could be listening to nails on a chalk board and not know it!
