Coney Island Astroland

I heard on the news that today Astroland was closing it's doors because they could not renew their lease. I'm so sad, I lived in Brooklyn until 8th grade so growing up I had spent so many weekends at Coney Island. Everything is being torn down except for the Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel because they are landmarks (they won't be running). So sad.....

Yea, I heard about this last year We were there last weekend and were so shocked at how much less packed it was than in the past. FH's world came crashing down when we found where the batting cages USED to be... So sad

I was there on Sunday to ride the Cyclone.....The place was packed and news crews everywhere. There was a save the park rally at noon. Maybe someone will still save it.

This is embarrassing to say being I have lived my whole life in NY but I never been there !!!! FH wanted to go to an aquarium with my son this weekend so I brought up the idea that we should go to coney island to at least see it and actually say i was there and then go to the aquarium down the street from there ... well it rained and poured Saturday and sunday we already had plans so we never got to go to coney island.
