dress anxiety

Ahh. I bought my dress and loved it but when I tried it on to have one of my BM take a picture I saw the pciture and think it looks awful. In person, I still love it but when I see th pictures, I hate it. Does anyone else have this problem? My bm told me I was being ridiculous and to stop second guessing but I can't . .
Did anyone else see themselves in a photo and hate it but love it in the mirror/

Re: dress anxiety

I know how you feel. I have my dress already. When i went to look at BM's dresses I saw another dress I liked and I thought I looked better in. My girls talked me ou tof it, and when i had my hair and makeup trial done, I put the dress on and i took photos and I felt better.
Think of why you bought the dress. And try it on again and see how it looks. That helped me.

Re: dress anxiety

i personally think my dress looks cheap in both the model pic & the one we took of me in it. in person, it gives me butterflies. i don't think non-pro pics really do a wedding gown any justice. if you think it's beautiful in person, that's what matters.

Re: dress anxiety

I agree that alot of gowns look better in person...plus the lighting in alot of stores is horrendous.
Just remember how you felt in your gown

Maybe you can visit your dress for peace of mind?

Re: dress anxiety

I agree with the girls. If you feel beautiful in it you will radiate the day of your weddings. Pics can be deceiving. Go with your gut feeling!!

Re: dress anxiety

I go back and forth with mine too. I love it some days...and feel like I could have done better other days. I want to look at a few more but I'm scared I'll find something better.

Re: dress anxiety

well, maybe because you didnt see yourself with the hair and makeup done ... when you have a trial you should try on the dress to see if it looks nice ... that is what i did and i loved it!!!

Re: dress anxiety

I understand what you are going through. When I tried on my dress, I was in it for like 2 hours and I was in love!!! Later when I saw pictures of myself in it, I was a little disappointed, I felt that I looked a little heavier than I wanted to in it. But I still LOVE the dress, I just dont love my body, and I am working on it!!!

I was between two dresses, the Casablanca I tried on was gorgeous in person and I was leanin toward it...until I saw the pics, it looked so dull.

Re: dress anxiety

I had the same experience..I cried the next day that I bought my dress so quickly and maybe it wasn't the right dress. I kept looking at the pics and got so upset. I went back to store and tried it on again and didn't want to take it off..

The first pics I took we snuck in the dressing room so the angles were so bad..plus my hair was a mess, no make-up etc...

Go try it on again in the store..the first time I went my mom and sister loved the dress, the 2nd time I brought FMIL and step-mother and they loved it as well..since all four loved it I knew I made the right choice....Go back and try it on again.

Re: dress anxiety

I feel the same way. I love my dress in person. I look back at the pictures and I don't think I look 'bride-y' enough and I start getting upset that I made the wrong choice. In person I still love it though.

Re: dress anxiety

Bumping to put this thread back out there....Maybe it will continue to help people that feel this way - it helped me!

I have been shopping for 6 months!!!! Everytime I think I found 'THE' dress I look at the pictures and second guess myself. Now I know I'm not alone!! I too think my dress looks cheap in pictures and on the model! I think I look HUGE in the pictures (it's a trumpet gown). I absolutely loved it in person as soon as I saw it on the hanger. I thought it looked great on and even gasped when I saw the back. My sister and Mother love it and everyone in the shop said it looked great (without my asking) But then I looked at the pictures and the website and think I should continue shopping!!! UGH!! I'm sooo tired of shopping....I haven't ordered the dress yet...I have till Saturday....just don't know if I should go ahead and order it?! And I just can't beat the price, so I'm not sure if that is part of my problem.

Re: dress anxiety

I love my dress both in person and in pics. I mean, I guess everyone is different. I have known a lot of people that had GORGEOUS dresses but when you see it in pictures, it's not the same. I am sure you look gorgeous in it if you love it when it's on.
