Entire wedding party is across the country...how do they order dresses?

I assumed they would go to their local retailer (probably WTOO dresses) and I am giving them something around 5 dresses to choose among and whatever fits each girl the nicest is fine with me. I'm going to restrict the color to one color and the fabric to one fabric.;

But then one of my friends said that I should order all the dresses from a local store and they'll ship it to the girls because the dresses should all be from the same dye lot????

Any suggestions?

if they're getting different dresses, they're not going to be from the same dye lot anyway.

All my girls ordered their dresses individually (online) - 6 different dresses - same manufacturer and same color. There was no problem with colors at all. They all looked great.

Thanks...that's what I want to happen...one less thing for me to do, I just didn't know if there was a way that it was 'supposed' to be done and i just didn't know about it.

We ordered dresses from Jim Hjelm. My one BM lives in California and had no trouble getting her dress.

My girls live everywhere too - VA, CO, PA, NJ and NY! So, I just had them all go to bridal shops and get measured and I got a size chart for my designer and we picked their sizes and I ordered them from someone in NY.

You can order them online from someplace like bridalmarketplace.com or netbride. If you use bridalmarketplace.com You pick the dress and give them your bms names and then they can order them and when everyone gives in their sizes they do a group order. This way you don't have to be aggrivated about getting sizes and $$ , the dresses are from the same dyelot plus your girls get a discount.

3 of my girls are from out of town. I went with RK Bridal no frills... I have no complaints. I got a call that my dresses were in and the next day all of my girls received their dresses.

I think it cost $15 more to ship them to everyone. Well worth it

I got chicks in different area codes including NY, GA, NY, NC, & MD. I made sure that I picked a store that was convenient for everyone to use (David's Bridal).

I hope they are all responsible enough to buy the dresses on their own. (My bridesmaids are a bunch of crazies!)

I also let my girls all pick their own dress and no store I went to would guarantee they would come from the same dye lot because they are different dresses. I used RK Bridal and I let the girls pick the style and size they wanted (used mfg sizing chart) and placed the order all at once. They said this would be the best chance of getting them from the same lot. I know they definitely did not because the dresses all came in at different times. the colors matched perfectly - their was no issue at all.

Same here, I had the girls get measured then ordered them here in NY. When the dresses come in, I will mail the out of town girls their dresses so they can have them altered by them.

My MOH and I picked out the BM dress in Houston, ordered 5 of them (so they would be the same dye lot) and then everyone had them shipped. They will have them altered wherever they live. It has worked out fine so far...
