NWR: Gas prices

I work in Medford and the Coastal on the corner is $3.19! I am so excited...do you think we'll see it go under $3?

i just wish prices were falling for a different reason--it's the loss of demand in the global recession that's causing them to drop

Re: NWR: Gas prices

There are a couple of places here in Philly that are $2.99 now. And in Jersey it can be found in the $2.70's. Even with the prices going down, I still won't be driving home to see my family for the three day weekend... I used to go home almost every weekend but now I stay put. Too expensive

So are you saying that there is less of a demand for it?

Re: NWR: Gas prices

one of the reasons oil is going down is that people/corps/funds etc need to cover margin calls and take some profits where they can bc the market is exploding... economic slowdown SCARYY!!!!!

I don't know if that's the case. In the past 8 years of elections- gas prices have always dropped to their lowest prices by November. I think it's a coincidence that they fall around the same time of the year everytime election day approaches.

it could be BS--i never believe everything i hear--but that's what all the news networks said. because of the economic slow down in developed nations, the demand for petroleum has decreased (businesses are not expanding, some are closing, etc.) that's the explanation for the drop in price. other commodities like gold are going up tho. it's tough for me to understand, but that's what they said on CNN, NPR, and BBC.

I don't know- the media B.S's. It could be anything. It's just so odd though because since Bush has been in office, gas prices drastically decreases as election day rolls around. I am trying to find a chart with monthly gas prices since 2001 but I can't find anything.

It's also odd that prices are decreasing when the market is doing terrible. When the market soars, gas prices go down. When the market crashes, gas prices go up. But for some fricken reason, it's doing the opposite.

Did you change your allocations to prevent anymore losses? I suggest changing everything to 100% fixed until the market gets better.
