totally bummed

so FH passed 2 civil services test and most likely the training camps will start jan...and if not then then March...(thats not what im bummed out about..Im actually thrilled) :)

im totally bummed bc we can't make ANNNNNNNNY honeymoon plans/reservations till we find out when the training camps are...
im probally gonna get a crappy room and crappy tickets and pay a fortune on top of it

please tell me there is an upside to this?

Hopefully if it is a last minute booking - the resort that you will be looking to stay at will have some last minute deals. I know with the resort that we are staying at (I check their site frequently) - they have SOO MANY deals for people who are planning on going in like the next month to three months away. They need to book the rooms and I am sure that they just give them away just over what they cost them... I think you are going to completely LUCK out on that. The plane tickets may be more - but in the end it will probably all come out to what it will cost you if you booked now..

1st off he will be getting great benfits for the 2 of u and sometimes if you book vacations last minute they drop the price if they arent booked up and you may get a better deal ...cheer up

I am in the same boat as you right now!

FH is a criminal justice major and really wants to be a cop. He took the written test the other day and the physical portion is tomorrow. He told me that if he were to be hired, he'd find out in January and then if he is hired, 21 weeks of training starts in July. Our wedding is in August. We haven't made any honeymoon plans yet. As happy as I am for FH, this stinks!!! So, right now it's just wait and see I guess.

awww Colleen! Dont worry! Why dont you go away later? That way it gives you some more time to book? Maybe go away for a nice romantic weekend and then do your honeymoon in august?

my FH got called from the Nassau County Police Department ... he went on his interview, they did his background check and he will be taking the physical part soon ... im nervous too because i dont know if i should wait and see whats going to happen with this whole process or if we should just book anyway! ahhh i know its awesome for them tho ... good jobs!!!

I am not going to be able to take a HM at all until I have some sort of recess bc I am a social worker in a school which I got after booking our SEPT wedding!! There is no way I can go on a HM..so I just keep thinking that I will still have it to look forward to...Maybe you could book something later on... a few months after the wedding so that you wont be bombarded with higher cost?? and you could still have it to look forward to since it wont be right after the wedding??

we cant go on our honeymoon for a month or so because FH runs a summer camp/ At first I was sad but now I am thankful that I will have it to look forward to stil!!

aw coll! If anything..you could save money and book last minute..it may stink trying to get the time off but you might get a good deal! Or you could delay the HM until you know time off would be easier to get. PLUS think about the awesome benefits you'd be getting!!!!

we are delaying our HM because we are getting married so close to Christmas. Can you take a day or two after the wedding to go somewhere close. Even a little weekend getaway up north at a Bed and Breakfast!!!
