? for those attending cocktail hour
Are you skipping the introduction to the reception? FH & I think it's going to be redundant since we're having ceremony at hall and going to our cocktail hour.Any opinions?

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
I still think we'll have the introductions because some of the guests may not know who the parents and members of the BP are. I was in a wedding several years ago and we all mingled with the guests during cocktail hour but were still introduced. I don't think it will look funny or redundant at all.

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
Oh! Good point. How obnoxious of me to forget that the day isn't totally about me & FH! Didn't even think about the people who don't know the other side of the family yet. Oooops!

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
IMO: That is the first time you are introduced 'officially' as H&W! Plus I think it is a great way to kick off the reception. I can't think of any other way to start it!

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
We will definately be introduced and we are attending cocktail hour. When you go to cocktail hour, you are casually walking around, you are not being introduced. You still need the introduction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (IMO
)

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
We were at most of our cocktail party mingling a bit and also doing some work with the videographer and we still did the intros! It is a must! Kicks off the wedding!

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
You should definitely still be formally introduced. It is a fun way to kick off the wedding and it also lets people know who your bridal party is. Besides, you have to make a grand entrance into your reception!!

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
I agree with Erica...We were at our cocktail hour and were introduced. It's a fun, high energy moment that won't happen again (at least until your children get married
).That was also the moment when our wedding stopped be 'classy' and turned 'party'.

Re: ? for those attending cocktail hour
Almost every wedding I've been to within the last few years, the B&G have attended their cocktail hr, and still get introduced into the reception. It's just a great way to set the tone of the party
