30th Anniversary Party for Parents
I am thinking about throwing a 30th anniersary party for my parents. I think I am still having the post-wedding planning blues and this will give me something similar to do. I would like to have it at a nice place, but since I will probably be doing this alone, cost is a factor. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you were to do a brunch, that might cheaper, an then the alcohol consummption will be lower.

Re: 30th Anniversary Party for Parents
whats your budget Heather?could you do it in the winter...or on a thurs?
4 hours instead of 5?
also...beer and wine only would be OK...no need to do liquor..
what about places like...swan club...verdis...chateau briand...huntington townhouse...douglaston manor
I'm sure there are a lot of places that have >$50 pp

Why don't you check out Coral House? This is where I am getting married. It is a nice place, reasonably priced and the food is very good.

Re: 30th Anniversary Party for Parents
The actual ann date is Sept. 15. I would probably do it the weekend before. I had already figured in the beer and wine only thing. I never thought of a brunch, but that may help. I also want to get a DJ, centerpieces, and favors. There will be about 125 people. The more I explain it, the more its sounding like a wedding. As far as cost I have no idea $30 -$40pp?

Where are you looking to do it, Nassau or Suffol, I know of a few places in Suffolk, but I am clueless as to Nassau!

Re: 30th Anniversary Party for Parents
LOL I just called them before. So far, they had the lowest price, besides restaurants. Its funny a lot of places treat this just like a wedding with a cocktail hour, champagne toast and everything.

Re: 30th Anniversary Party for Parents
Why not check out renting a local VFW, Knights of Columbus, or firehouse. They charge you a rental fee and price pp for drinks. Then you can have catered food delivered. I did this for my parents party a few years ago. I think it came to about $25 pp (open bar and catered the food ). It was hot trays buffet style and I had a DJ.Welcome New Vendors
