Question for my coworker
The wedding reception she is going to is at a small chinese resturant, not a RH.. How much should she give as a gift?

I would give just as much as I would have if it was at a fancy RH, it all depends on the relationship she has with the couple and her budget

Thanks, I will relay that to her.. its another coworker so I dont think she is very close with them so thats why she is confused

I wouldn't base it on the place of the reception but more on their relationship.

i agree, I don't feel you should give more bc someone either has the money to go all out, or wants to go bankrupt over their wedding.

I agree too... My coworker on the other hand is not that close with this person so she wasn't sure what was appropriate. Also, I dont think they are doing the RH for cultural reasons so its not about money at all so she is even more confused about that (as am i) and what is normally an appropriate gift in these situations...Oy!
