Getting Sentimental
Yuuuummmmm!!! My whole house smells like Pumpkin Bread today!! I LOVE it!!!Every Thanksgiving, each member of my family gets a different job to do, and every year mine is the pumpkin bread. I think it's been that way ever since I was 12 years old. lol. It made me a little sad thinking about how this may be the last time I'm doing this in my house, since I'll be a married woman next month and moving to Colorado for a couple years. But it's exciting too. Bitter/Sweet
Everybody who's getting married and staying close to home, consider yourself lucky. I can't wait to be back in New York with my family after the move. I hate being away from them, we're a really close family.

Re: Getting Sentimental
I am making pumpkin muffins tonight! I've been making my aunt's recipe for about 7 years now. I looove to make them, it's a tradition I have with myself that I just love ... I usually wind up thinking about the things I'm thankful for while I am making them and I know that sounds corny, but it's my own little thing that I happen to look forward to a lot.I usually make them while the parade is on in the morning, but we are GOING to the parade this year, so I am making them tonight.
We are moving to NH next fall, most likely, so I know how you feel about moving away. Very bittersweet. We love NH - just like the quaintness of it, the scenery, the potential for more SNOW than here, nicer people (less crime, less worrying about people's motives, slower pace is how I see it - so they are more apt to be friendly and less suspect of people) ... and it costs a lot less to buy a house there and just live there in general -- but I am close to my family and friends too and will miss them terribly ... I have dreamed of having a home with DH for years, but as it gets closer, I am getting very upset about it. We can't afford to own a home here though - and it is close enough that I can come for a weekend whenever I want, basically.
to you -- I know what you are going through.

Re: Getting Sentimental
Thanksgiving is not my fav holiday but instead xmas. It is sad to move out because even if I still live close we are now one large family and DH does things differenlty than us, and that kinda makes me sad...but I told him that when we have our 1st child we would spend it in our home and celebrate the way I grew up and this way I will feel that I did not leave home.Welcome New Vendors
