Hating my wedding pix
I just wanted to say we got our proofs back. I'm so upset. I've been crying, I wish I could go back in time and say 'NO! NO! THIS ISN'T OUR STYLE!'I don't even know what to say. I have no idea how I'm going to find enough nice pictures to fill our parents books. I said 100 times that I wanted photojournalist style images and moments captured. The pictures are 95% posed and corny. We are in poses from like a JC Penny bridal catalog. 'Look lovingly at the ring' and 'Hold her face' ... one leg up against the wall, sprawl out on the piano, just one stupid image after another. Nothing artistically modern or unique. I've been crying. My sample 'must have' pix were never done. Even us alone on the dance floor didn't come out right. You see the tables in the background and it's from a weird distance. This is a popular Riviera shot, where you just see wood. Even that shot wasn't set up correctly. I'm just livid. I don't even want to go back and pick them up

Re: Hating my wedding pix
Ally, I'm so sorry.
Have you tried contacting some of your guests to see if anyone took pictures? Some of my guests had really nice cameras and took the best photojournalist shots.

Re: Hating my wedding pix
I love my friends, but I've seen their pix on Facebook and our eyeballs are missing in most of them or there are 100 orbs. Typical guest photos. Ya know?

Re: Hating my wedding pix
Did you mention to your photographer that you want photojournalist style?
More importantly, when you booked them, did you see samples of this style of photography?
You should definately say something to the photog. I know my photographer shot over 1000 photos and he filters out 300 of them. If you photographer did this, he probably filtered out the ones that you like not knowing that's what you want.

That's what photoshop is for. You can crop and retouch the photos.

Re: Hating my wedding pix
this is sort of my fault. i wanted to save my MIL money so i selected a cheap studio. i saw their books and did not like them BUT because they were from 2006/7 i assumed that style wasn't popular then. i must have said 'photo jourmalistic' 10000 times. i provided samples and lists and everything... it's done and gone. :(

Re: Hating my wedding pix
It is not your fault, affordable (cheap) does not mean that they have to give you crappy service or work. I paid wayyyyy less than many girls on this site, and I love my photog. FM, she may be able to to a day after shoot for you for a low price, I did one and it was totally worth it.BTW- have you appraoched them with the complaint? Have they offered to refund some $ or give you something in exchange?

Re: Hating my wedding pix
I would definately complain. Maybe they can embellish the album such as enlargements or black and whites with a splash of color.

Re: Hating my wedding pix
I know some brides that have been unhappy with their photography have done day after shots with their fiance with a different photographer. I know its extra and you shouldn't have to but it s a suggesstion...so sorry you are unhappy...that truly stinks and was my worst fear...

I feel so bad for you
but if it makes you feel any better we are in the same boat. I made a whole post on Brides helping Brides how much i hated my photographer. It could've been worse. I dont even have a photo of my CH, my Vienese hour or my CP's. Actually, my parents are seperated and there isn't even a picture with my father and my 2 brothers together! I fell the same way. I don't even want to look at them. Not to mention, he was a perv as well. Anyway, I hope it all works our for you

Re: Hating my wedding pix
I guess I just feel like, what's the point of telling them I hate our photos. Like I will mention it when we go for our Thank you cards, but they won't give us a refund or anything. They don't even provide you with a link so you can photo shop them yourself, you have to actually scan them and go from there, how annoying to scan like 1000 photos???? So dumb!Welcome New Vendors
