1979 Wedding Vs 2008

I was talking with my parents and they said their ENTIRE wedding cost $1200 no wonder they keep getting grouchy on how much mine is costing!

I should really scan their wedding photos. My mom's dress was a beautiful timeless piece but my dad rocked the classy all white tux and handlebar mustache, and the groomsmen- tan and toupe a la There's Something about Mary LOL

LOL my mom's ring was $150!!!!!!!! I can't get ANYTHING associated with this wedding for 150 bucks!

seriously! they had a nice wedding too! it was at a hall and everything, had limos, sit down dinner.... and my mom had a beautiful cascading bok.... I know prices have gone up in everything but they really overcharge so much

I know, it's disgusting. In 1984 my parent's wedding I think was like 5000 total if that. That's only my photo/video, and maybe all stationary products if that.

I swear I'm in the wrong line of work.

I think my mom said their whole wedding was 2k and they got married at St Peters in Port Washington and their RH was the THATCHED COTTAGE! LOL

And they had like 200 people!

People keep asking me if i'm bringing my mom dress shopping, i'm like ummmm I don't wanna give her a heart attack in the store when she sees how much dresses cost!

my parents had their reception at the watermill too so i wanna show our photog some pics and replicate them

but omg the dresses and hats her BM's wore
they got married 1978 i shouls scan in a few pics when i go to LI for christmas you guys gotta see these hats you will die

its just a nyc, long island thing....

my cousin had has wedding up in Utica for under $7000... our day of makeup was paid for by his bride and for 7 girls it was like $150 !!!.. the hair for all of us plu smy aunt was around $400 FOR 8 PEOPLE that included full head curling and turning it into an updo !!!!! crazzzzzzy
