OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

My baby brother Jake was born 13 days from my 12th birthday and was suppose to be my baby sister. But instead he became brother number 3 out of my moms four kids. But he has been like a son to me since he came home from the hospital. He and I are very close and I love him more than words can say. He and I have a very tight bond. I often tell him he was suppose to be my sister but instead I got a son. He is the one I had walk me to the aisle when I got married, to welcome DH into the family. (I didn't want to do the traditional being given away.)
Well last night I went over my moms house to pick up something, when Jake and my mom told me some wonderful news!!!! My little brother who is 16 yrs old just got accepted to be an Ambassador for the USA and is going to Japan. He will be learning Engineering! My brother has been working on cars and motorcycles since he as 8 and its all expense payed trip for the whole summer. I'm so proud of him. He is extremely gifted and is very intelligent and I can't be more happy or proud! I love him so much and now he is going to do what he loves in a country that will further his experiences. I'm now saving up to buy him a Japaneses language learning program. I soooooo need some good suggestions. Jake picked up Spanish pretty quick and I know Japaneses is much much harder, but I figured if he can learn just enough to get by and give him a head start for when he gets there.
I'm just so so so so proud. I had no idea. One of his old teachers in Bellport High School recommend him, but which one is still a mystery. Guys I'm just so so happy. I could dance on air. Please let me know if you know any good language learning programs. Price is an issue, but if I gotta sell my hair at this point I will. I'm just soooo happy! Tears are rolling down my eyes!

AWWW! Congrats!!!

I know Rosetta Stone is supposed to be the best - but it's like $500. I got my BIL Living Language cds for christmas (spanish because he's in the process of becoming a corrections officer, in the academy now) ... they were $40 for a set of 4 I think? They sell the basic and intermediate sets together too, for like $70? I got them at Barnes & Noble.

Wow congrats!!!!!!!! That is great news for him. What a wonderful experience for him to have.

Sorry I know nothing about language learning programs just wanted to congratulate him.
