Repost from NW Board (NWR)- Has anyone been to GLO?
Has anyone been to Glo (formerly known as Mirage) night club in Westbury? I'm helping plan a bachelorette party but the bride doesn't want to go out in the city. I know Mirage used to play a lot of house music on Saturday nights, but now that the ownership has changed I wasn't sure if it's the same type of atmosphere. The pictures on the website look really cool, but does anyone know about the music? We would prefer a place with more hip-hop and dance music rather than house music. If not Glo, does anyone have other suggestions for a good place to go dancing on LI? Thanks!

I have! Its not bad, but on a Saturday, they do play house music, but its poppy. It gets pretty packed too. I do recommend you call in advance and tell them you are barchellorete party. I think if you bring 10+ girls, you get a table and a free bottle of champagne or something for a really fair price (like $60 a person or something). We did bottle service there, which was so/so. The only complaint I had was how they crammed so many people into a vip area and when people are drunk, it gets a little ugly. But I liked Mirage and Glo is just as good. I recommend it :) I think I might do my Birthday there as well, but we have to see. www.glonightclubli.comYou can also try Zacharys, which is an older crowd, and the music is pretty diverse. Savannah is a little younger, say 21-26, but since the two are right next to each other, you can go between both.
Mulcahy's in wantagh is ok, but its a super young crowd however they play really good music (stuff you hear on the radio). Good for beer, good music (great DJ and bands).
Four in Farmingdale is good as well, but its more lounge-ish, although I have seen people go crazy and dance there.
Orgin(?spelling?) in Farmingdale I heard is good, which was formally Ice, but I heard Jonathan Peters was recently there, which means house music. But its still good!
But I do recommend Glo. I really think you will have a good time there.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info (I used to promote, so I've been all over the place!)
