***Official Giorgio's 2010 Brides***
Hello everyone. So it's official.. Me and the FH have booked Giorgio's in Baiting Hallow for our RH!!! I would love if we could make this thread for all brides of Giorgio's, past and present. We are just relieved that we have a date and a place booked so we can relax a little now, but would love to hear feedback, positive and negative about Giorgio's. Vendor info and feedback would help too. TY!!

I'm a 2009 girl.... hotels there is a Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, and Hilton Garden Inn. Best Western and Holiday offer free shuttles for your guests. Block ASAP though bc they book up FAST.I don't think Best Western is that bad, she did mention to me they are changing names but wasn't allowed to tell me.

Re: ***Official Giorgio's 2010 Brides***
We just booked for June 2010! I would be curious to hear about the different hotels... we went to holiday inn (very corporate feeling and no real bar) and best western (i agree the rooms arent as nice but the bar and free shuttles are). the hilton is nice but more $$ plus you have to get the shuttle (a lot more $$). I actually heard good things about the BW but don't want to book it without more reviews. They said they :might: be renovating?any insider info?
also anyone having the ceremony there or nearby? we don't live around there so are 'church or pastor shopping' lol.

I've heard only good things about both holiday inn and BW.... things with the shuttles and stuff were fine.I'm having my ceremony at St. Isidore in Riverhead. FM me if you have questions.

Re: ***Official Giorgio's 2010 Brides***
I actually went to a wedding at Vineyard Caterers 2 years ago and we stayed at the BW out there. Even though the rooms weren't anything to rave about, they weren't bad either... just average hotel rooms, which was fine for us. We didn't expect anything more than that. They kept the bar open for us after the reception and the bartender kept the bar open past the 4am closing time for all the hard-core party-ers, which was awesome. They had a brunch the next morning which was decent too. I think they may have had a free continental breakfast regardless of the brunch.I called BW and H.I. Ex. today... these are the prices I got for May 2010:
BW was cheaper - reg price: $239, discounted with blocked rooms was $199/nite. Will block off 25 rooms, and if you need more, they'll open 10 more at a time as they get booked up. You need at least 15 rooms booked for them to offer the free shuttle to Giorgio's.
HIExp - discounted was $209 for a standard room, $229 for a suite. The GM of the hotel was the same for both BW & HIExp - Tina - which was a little weird i think.
I haven't heard anything about renovations at BW.... let me know what you've heard about it.

Re: ***Official Giorgio's 2010 Brides***
I had a question about favors... this is way ahead of time for me and the FH, but we wanted to make a donation to a charity in lieu of favors at the wedding and there's a fundraising event coming up in a few weeks that we wanted to donate to. What is a good amount to donate in lieu of favors at the wedding?? We are having probably 220 guests and we thought about $2/guest for a $400-$450 donation. What is everyone's opinion on this? Is this too little?

KTFroggy - I think any amount you do is fine. You do whatever you can afford and no one really every has to know the total amount. I love what Jenn04 did with incorporating the menu and donation cards. I am toying with the idea myself...:)
I'll be there next sunday! Can't wait :)

Re: ***Official Giorgio's 2010 Brides***
Hi fellow Giorgio's Brides,Could you tell me who you used/are using for hair and makeup? I don't live near Giorgio's but will be spending the night before my wedding out there. The wedding is also on a Sunday, and I know many salons are closed. I don't mind going to a salon on the day of, and am looking for someone reasonably priced.
Thanks very much!

I'm also a May Giorgio's Bride! Did you just book or are you new to LIW? Just asking b/c when we booked in May, they barely had any dates left!
I love it there..the place and the grounds are so beautiful! ..and everyone I know that's been there before raves about the food :)
I'm booking a pianist to play during CH. I love that they have a piano in the center of the room.
