MY COMPUTER IS FRIED!!!! I LOST EVERYTHING!!

I hate this! I've had my computer a little over 1 year (Of course, after that one year mark, the warranty is over...thank god i purchased an extended one), and it just totally shut down, wouldn't load Windows...

Basically, I LOST EVERYTHING that was on my computer...my master's thesis, all my law school briefs, and ALL MY WEDDING STUFF!! I was hysterical yesterday...the only consulation is that a lot of the things I lost, I have hard copies...but I have no idea where to find them.

The wedding stuff, I lost all the images I downloaded from the web of things I liked.

I was crying all day yesterday, I felt like I lost a chunk of my life!

Thanks for letting me vent.

Did you bring it to get fixed somehwere? Perhaps they can get your files off your hard drive? Itmay not be totally lost.

Definetley call the company - just because windows won't open doesn't mean you lost everything!!!! Keep some hope!!!! CALL THE COMPANY!

I called the company, and was on the phone with them all day yesterday...we tried everything! So, I had to use the Quick Restore CD, which restored my computer to the way I bought it, with nothing on it!

I'm OK now that I'm slowly adding all the software back...thanks everyone!

that happened to me Kathy - I lost 60 of my 90 page undergrad thesis. Luckily I had hard copies but I had to retype the whole thing.

You lost your law school briefs...are you still in school - did you lose notes too?

My first year I had a dell that kept crashing and eventually the hard drive went after losing all my notes once (my disk was bad) I now put things on disk, cd, and print to be sure.
