Re: *~I is for Invitations~*
I plan on DIYing. As of now, my color scheme is pink and green so it will incorporate those colors.I plan on doing a panel invite. However, I like that pocketfolds hold all of the enclosures. I am trying to think of a way to bundle everything nicely. I was thinking of tying everything with a ribbon.

I was originally set on the first invites (the yellow ones) but I think I am leaning more towards the second ones (green).
Love these green ones!

Re: *~I is for Invitations~*
This is my wedding nightmare lolI wanted pockets but they're too expensive. I can't find ANYTHING else I like though that isn't ridiculously expensive .. I don't want to spent $1000 on 100 invitations that everyone will throw out (with the exception of a few people)

The ones I posted I found for at most $350 and that was including everything...
check out this site because they give you really great deals (found through another LIW that purchased her invites through this site... you can get up to 35% off invites)

Re: *~I is for Invitations~*
My best friend and MOH is a graphic designer. She got married in September and she designed her own invitations and had them letterpressed. She and her husband just bought an actual letterpress, so she will be designing and letterpressing everything for me. I just so happen to be best friends with the most talented person ever! So I'm basically planning on her doing all of that for me! I feel very lucky and relieved

I'm scared to order it online, I guess I could order samples though right?
I do have a stupid question for you though - if I order online I know they print return addresses on the response cards and main envelopes, and they print the invitations - but what about the addresses where they are being sent? Do I have to hire a calligrapher or do I send the website a list of all my guests addresses and they do it for me. I don't even know where to start when it comes to looking online, or what to look for, or what questions to ask.

You can order a sample (for a little extra you can even order a sample invite with yur info printed on it).
As far as the addressess for who you are sending them to, they don't print that. You can either hire a calligrapher or you can honestly just buy those clear address labels, print the addresses using a nice calligraphy font and then put them on the invites yourself.... that's what I'm doing.

I'm pretty clueless myself as well. My girlfriend already does photo-invites, etc and offered to do the printing and all that, I just need to find the best price for the materials.
I also like the pocketfolds because I am going to have a lot of information in the invite.
I found this website, but I'm not sure if it's a good price.

I *think* I'm going to DIY pocketfolds. I started working on a sample and so far, I like them. I will have to take pix to show you girls one of these days!

okay another random question:
You said you're spending like $350, how many invitations are you getting? / how many do you think you need?
I'm trying to determine how many I need, someone told me to divide the guest list in half and add 10 and that should be my number so I have a bunch of extras but that seems like leaving a little too much to chance.

To me this will only work if most people are couples or +1's..I have quite a few friends that are not in relationships and don't plan on inviting too many +1's
So I would just put my list on a spreadsheet and couples would be 1 line each then everyone else..so I would know how many I need..I plan to order 5-10 extra just incase something happens to some

I am giving all my single friends a +1 the only ones I may not give a +1 to is my coworkers so they can all just show up together and sit together since they're all friends so I *think* it will work but I'm nervous about it and since my guest list keeps getting bigger- started at 125 and is not at 200 without including coworkers there is no way I can order invites until i straight this out. But I want to get an idea of what I'm going to do/where I will order them now.
