Okay enough lousy day vents from me...

So? ANything awesome for thanksgiving?

We're going to make raisin apple stuffing, but I hear there are some awesome stuffings with bananas in them!

Of course I am going to test my hand at a dessert to go with it...we went pumpkin picking and we have an awesome pumpkin that we picked just for the pumpkin pie!!

Re: What are you cooking for Thanksgiving??

I usually make my own homemade stuffing - I rip up pieces of whole wheat bread, chop up celery, onion & pieces of chicken apple sausage, add some butter & stuff the turkey w/it! MMMMMMMMM---MM!

But we are having the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes w/gravy, candied yams, corn, peach halves w/cranberry (DH's favorite) & green bean casserole.

Havent quite decided on desserts yet but thinking of homemade apple pie & mini-cheescakes in the shape of pumpkins (I have a great pan from Williams Sonoma) & prob some choc chip cookies for my brother & dad

Re: What are you cooking for Thanksgiving??

me...cook?...hahahaha....I'll leave that up to the pros in my family!

I will probably make an Apple Crisp that is sugar-free (got the recipe off of the back of the splenda brown sugar blend). It is really yummy and the important thing is that my dad (who is diabetic) can eat it!

Thanks...I think my dad has that cookbook. Whenever he make dessert he uses splenda and people cannot tell the difference at all.

LOL, I use either real or canned. And it's famous. Because it's on the back of the Libby's pumpkin can. I only tweaked it very little.

It is the easiest and best tasting pumpkin pie. I'll post it in the Newlywed cookbook thread.

Re: What are you cooking for Thanksgiving??

I'm planning on making a bread pudding this year. We usually make turkey with stuffings (celery, carrot, cilantro, onion, etc., not too fond of the cranberry sauce or stove top type of stuffings), corn on cob, mash potatoes with gravy, sometimes we'll throw in eggplant parmesan, sweet potato pie..... I think, I'm definitely gonna gain weight after all this food.
