It's time for my looooooong heartfelt goodbye!
to my lovely LIW ladies:I have VERY busy day tomorrow so I don't know if I'll be on much. Plus tomorrow night I'm staying at my mom's house and I hate using her computer so I want to let you all know how I feel and what you've all come to mean to me:
Like everyone else who writes a goodbye, I cannot believe how quickly the time flew by.
First, a definite shout out to Ron Liz and Kim for this site. It has been an invaluable tool and I feel like I formed such strong bonds of friendship and loyalty.
It's such a funny thing - I stumbled upon this site completely by accident. At the time I was newly engaged, just about to turn 40 and FH and I were having the argument over big wedding/destination wedding. (For the record, I lost and I'm glad I did). I came across it while looking for price quotes for RHs to hopefully scare him off - it didn't work.
It isn't always easy being a 40 year old (now 41 but who's counting?) first-time bride. None of my close girlfriends really were that interested in wedding planning since all of their weddings were literally decades ago!
I was worried that I would feel stupid posting here, but you wonderful warm women took me under your wings and made me feel welcome. You let me vent about my horrible FMIL, laughed with me over bridezilla moments, cried with me when I needed shoulders to lean on, let me know when I was wrong and made me feel validated when I knew I was right.
I truly don't know how to thank all of you girls for the gifts you have given me. I cannot believe that a bunch of women (most of whom I've never met) have come to mean so much to me. I think when I walk down that aisle on Saturday afternoon to FINALLY marry the man I have been waiting my whole life for, I will be carrying all of the '09ers with me.
I have waited a VERY long time for this moment - I want to thank you all for EVERYTHING that it took to get me to day!! I will see you on the boards after I'm a married lady and hope to see you all at the NW luncheon in March. I promise to try to sneak a couple of posts from the HM while FH is playing golf
Until then, I truly love all of you ladies! Congratulations to all of this weekend's brides!
