$10,000-$12,000 budget
Hi everyone! I am having a small breakdown over here and just need a little advice.I have about a 10-12 thousand dollar budget for my wedding including venue, flowers, limos, photos, etc. Just about everything except the dress and chapel. I have about 100-120 guests to invite and my wedding is going to be in the winter of 2011.
Anyone have any tips on how to make this budget work with the amount of guests I will have? Where are some good places to shop for bargains? Tips on any DIY projects? Less expensive reception places?
I'm feeling very overwhelmed at the moment!
...I think I may need to find some way to increase my budget.

I believe the Thatched Cottage offers an all-inclusive wedding option for the winter, I think it was like $10,000 for 100 guests. I would call them and see what they offer, I think it's a nice option for a bride on a budget!

I think Mediterranean Manor does this too.

Re: $10,000-$12,000 budget
Not sure where you are looking, but there are some places that offer All Inclusive wedding packages.Mediterrean Manor
Brentwood Country Club
Thatched Cottage
Douglaston Manor - during Nov - Feb
Beach Club Estate
Gennaro's Catering in Brooklyn
Riccardo's by the Bridge
The Riviera
The Baron DeKalb in Brooklyn
Most of these places offer the deal on Fri or Sun for up to 100 ppl, includes RH for 4 or 5 hrs with open bar, DJ, Limo, florists, invitations, photographer, videographer and wedding cake. For 13k you can score a Sat night at Brentwood CC... one wedding at a time on a golf course.
DIY:
Michael's is a great source... Bride's Magazine offers a line for programs, invitations, favor tags, escort cards, OOT bags, water bottle labels and menus... all with coordinating themes.

Dont feel overwhelmed...the only thing you need to worry about right now is booking the RH. If you're from Suffolk I would highly recommend the Brentwood Country club also. Marconi manor is real inexpensive too. Work on that for now and then worry about all the finer details. You have all the time in the world not to mention we'll get you thru anything at LIW. Welcome and Congratualations.

Re: $10,000-$12,000 budget
For the winter, I think that you can get at good price at several reception halls.I'd suggest ( off the top of my head)
- Coral House
- Fox Hollow
- Leonard's
-Arianna Waterfall
-The Swan Club
I also know Douglaston Manor offers an all-inclusive wedding package, but it might be for more than you wanted to spend. It is worth checking out though.
For other vendors that are lower priced.

Someone I know used this photographer for her wedding. I believe her wedding package is just under $1000 and includes engagement pictures.
DJS: High voltage quoted me $850 for a basic package and DJ beat quoted me $600.
Invites: I've heard that invitation consultants is reasonable. You could also go to Michael's and do them yourself if you are crafty.

Re: $10,000-$12,000 budget
I am getting married in March 2010, and Miller Place Inn is giving me a great deal for a Friday night. I think they have packages available too.My budget is very similar to yours and it can be done. It is a little time-consuming to find the best deals, but you can.
I also had to prioritize and realize that I couldn't create a fantasy wedding on that budget, but I could have a very beautiful one.

Re: $10,000-$12,000 budget
That is a workable budget..I am trying to keep everything at 15K or less but if it goes to 20K, I may be able to swing it depending on how I budget my paychecks in 2010.There is another LIW Bride here who got Photo/Video/DJ/Flowers/Limo/Tuxes for $5K with The Wedding Plaza (Ariana Studios) in Floral Park. If you add another 5K for the RH (very do-able as I'm spending about $6K for my RH for October 2010), that should equal about 10-11K. Tat leaves you with 1K for a wedding dress which isn't too bad (I got my dress for $500 at Davids Bridal).
So its definitely do-able, it just takes a lot of negotiating and DYI ideas!!

WOW!!! Thank you everyone so so much!I will definitely check out all of those places. The good thing about it is that i have a seperate fund for my dress and the chapel. I am most likely using Davids Bridal for all the dresses. I went there last week and really loved it.
This place is great! Thank you so much!
