Last minute thanksgiving

DH, me, and my parents were supposed to go to my ILs for Thanksgiving. My SIL's kids just got diagnosed with swine flu and my ILs just saw them on Sunday. No way in he-ll am I going there, so FIL canceled. Now I have to get a freaking turkey and plan 3 days before Thanksgiving so that I can cook dinner for me, DH and my parents.
I'd rather not get the swine flu, but now I have to plan a whole dinner.

Oh no! I don't cook so if that happened to me I'd have a heart attack! Good luck!

Re: Last minute thanksgiving

You'll be okay! My parents were supposed to have an early thanksgiving before my sister moved away. Well they couldn't make it home last minute so I offered to make it for her. It wasn't too bad.
My one piece of advice would be to get a fresh turkey (I did a turkey breast because there were only 3 of us). But get it asap because the supposedely fresh/not frozen turkey that I bought was actually a little frozen in the center. If you get a fresh one now you can leave it in the fridge for a few days to be sure its defrosted completely! Good luck!

Re: Last minute thanksgiving

I made the turkey last year so I have a good recipe. But DH and I have to run out tonight and get our free turkey from Shoprite. We were gonna wait till next week, I hope them have some left.

Re: Last minute thanksgiving

Awww that *****. But at least you wont get sick, ya know?

Just make some stuffing, mashed potatos and a turkey and you got yourself a decent meal. Either that or people can bring stuff as well to help?
