makeup / eye shadow color - HELP!

When I got my hair trimmed the other day, the woman who cuts my hair said that for the wedding the makeup artist should use all matte colors because metallic colors won't look good in pictures.

Do you think this is true? / Have you heard of this before?

When I had my trial they used metallics.

TIA

Re: makeup / eye shadow color - HELP!

I'm not fond of how silver metallic shadows show up. When my friend got married, that's all the makeup artist used on her and her BMs and it didn't come out that nice. HTH!

ETA: Pic of my friend (Hair Down, darker skin tone) in the BP for the above wedding. Do you see the silver shadow on her eyes? She was sooo pissed about it. Her makeup would have been fine if they didn't use the silver. Her skin is too dark for it.

Re: makeup / eye shadow color - HELP!

I find that metallic shadow reflects too much light and makes my eye lids look shiny in pics. maybe that's just me.

Re: makeup / eye shadow color - HELP!

well it depends. if its highlighted in areas it shouldn't be bad at all....it will do its job and accentuate (sp?).

if covered in it, then it looks funky photographed sometimes

Re: makeup / eye shadow color - HELP!

Both will look good on the eyes. You really don't want to use a lot of shimmer on the face though because that will look horrible in the pictures.

For the eyes - if you want a little shimmer on the lid go for it but use matte color close to your skin tone under the browbone. Otherwise it will be too much...
