Mothers Day - Vent - Repost from Parenting Board for more sympathy ;)
This being my first mothers day I thought WOO HOO special day for me, FH and our little baby... NOPEDerek decides that he cant take the day off (he is a starter at a golf course on the weekends from 12-6) PLUS someone else asked him if he could work the morning shift and he said yes!!! This means on Mothers Day he is leaving the house at 5AM... I get to wake up with Emma (no sleeping in) take care of her all day until his A$$ strolls in at 6:30!!!!!! The I have to feed her and put her to sleep at 8. Then clean the house and go to bed. I even asked him to take off and he said 'do you want me to quit?' 'Do you think I cant make it a special day even though Im going to be at the golf course?'...I said NO

How RUDE !!!
Dont make it a downer day because of that.
Does he have to work? (will he really get in trouble if he doesnt?) and if its decent spending money for him, ahh let him work.
You can always celebrate Saturday night? or Sunday evening ?
Just offering some suggestions.
Did he offer to celebrate at another time? or do anything during the weekend ?
Im sure he'll make it up to you !
Happy Mothers Day
Dont be upset or stressed. Take your little cutie pie out shopping, have ice cream, and make it a mommy n me day !

Stacey - I love your idea for Fathers Day... but two wrongs dont make a right.
Anna - He doesnt have to work. He only works there so he can play free golf. He makes min. wage!! AND he is taking May 17 & 18 off so he can take the guys that work for him upstate to his cabin and go fishing!
Thanks for the hugs... I just had a different idea of my first mothers day

Karen-hugs to you
I'm not a mom yet but I think i'd be feeling the same way you do if it were my first mother's day. Did you tell him how you feel?? Did he offer to make up for it on another day (even though it's not the same
).Happy Mother's Day

I say he wants to work then take yourself and your daughter on a shopping spree hand him the bill and say happy Mother's day to me!!!!!
You deserve it treat yourself a lot and he can pay for it from his club earnings!!I am sorry that your first mother's day is not going the way that it should. Hopefully he is lying and really has a nice surprise planned for you!

Make the best of it, and take your beautiful daughter and go shopping and buy yourself and your daughter lots of presents with his money. Then when he gets home hand her to him and make him put her to sleep and have a glass of wine and relax.

I second what KaylasParents says. No reason you can't treat yourself. I'm sure you deserve it.

On Fathers Day, so something nice for yourself, and leave your husband with the kid, tell him since it is fathers day he should want to spend the day with his child!!!Next mothers will surely be different.

You should definetly take your daughter and go shopping and buy yourself and her something special for your first mothers day. It is the least your husband can do since he won't be with you!Welcome New Vendors
