Is your FH paying for his groomsmen's tuxes?

One of my FH's groomsmen said that in every wedding he's been in, the groom paid for the tux rentals.

FH was confused, he told me he's always paid for his own tux when he's been in a wedding. Also, I didn't pay for my bridesmaids' dresses. It's kinda sexist, IMO....

What are you guys doing?

our groomsmen are paying for thier own, as are our BMs, except for one couple who is expecting thier first child (we are paying for theirs so that they will not be burdened).

Every wedding I have been in, the BM & GM pay, unless the B&G parents pay for them, it is usually not the b&G themslves that pay.

It's a nice gesture to pay for the tuxes (or gowns), but the BP is responsible for their own attire.

No way, he has alsways paid for his own tuxes when he has been in a wedding.

Since we're having a semiformal affair, FH groomsmen will wear suits to save the expense of the tux rental. FH and fathers will wear tuxes.

I think your FH's groomsman may be pulling your leg...

My guys are all paying for their own tuxes. My FH has been in a whole bunch on weddings over the past few years and he has paid for every one!

we are paying for the groomsmens tuxes and the bridesmaids dresses and are giving them VERY small gifts instead of larger gifts

FHs GM all paid for their own tuxes, and the BMs paid for their own dresses.

Etiquette wise - the bp is responsible for their own attire. Does that mean you can't pay? NO - if you have the money and want to be generous - sure you can. We paid 100$ towards every girls dress (since the girls picked a more expensive dress than I wanted them to pay for) we will also be buying them the shawls as well.

But I do not think you NEED to buy them - My GM plann on paying for their own. FH has never had his tux paid for before
