Brides with open toe shoes...

I think it looks fine with stockings! I just had to say this cuz the bride i saw Sat had open toe shoes with whitish stockings, and it looked fine! I thought it would be tacky, and normally it would, but for a bride it works! It was really pretty actually. I think i may have to go for the open toe shoes now!

Re: Brides with open toe shoes...

I usually don't like this look either but a bride can get away with it. Just make sure so get the sandlefoot ones so you don't show seam.

Haven't decided if I'll wear hose w/my open toe shoes yet - depends on the weather on our big day!

Re: Brides with open toe shoes...

At first I saw a pair of wedding shoes that's open toe with a nice size heel since I'm short and having an August, mid-summer wedding. However, my MIL was right that I should have a normal shoe that's closed toes. I did wear panty hose with my closed shoes.

To each her own, it may not suit me but to other brides it suits them just fine. Do what best suits you.

Re: Brides with open toe shoes...

LOL - Reading on this site for so long I thought I was the only bride who wore stocking with my open toe shoes. I did it and I did not think it looked bad. I wore really sheer, sandalfoot (and yes the seam does stay under your foot if you do it correctly), nude hose. My wedding was last October -cold, damp, and I needed to protect myself from the crinoline anyway! Worked for me. I never wear stockings with non-fancy/formal sandals but on a formal occasion - I don't mind it at all no matter what the fashion experts say.

I agree to each his own.

I wore stockings with open-toed shoes for my wedding last June - it worked for me!

Re: Brides with open toe shoes...

I have open toe shoes and do not plan to wear pantyhose. On the other hand, at my fitting the other day, the slip felt so weird against my legs (not scratchy, just weird), so I'm not sure what I'll do now. I think I'm still leaning toward NO pantyhose simply because I hate the darn things, and it will be June 1, so hopefully it will be warmer.

I think as long as you have a nice pedicure (even if you do it yourself), and put some moisturizer on your legs (they have one out that is supposed to give your legs a 'glow' or something), it's fine not to wear pantyhose. Afterall, how often am I going to be lifting my dress high enough to show my legs? NOT! lol!

Re: Brides with open toe shoes...

I don't see a problem with wearing stockings with open toed shoes, but in case anyone wanted to know, they make stockings in all shades that are regular stockings with no toe part, and a little loop you put around like your big toe or 2nd toe to make them stay put and they are supposed to work really well. Macy's & stores like that sell them.
