HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
my fiance and i want a nontradtional album as well as non tradtional pics like photojournalism and candids in black and white. i found these italian style coffee table albums done in england and california that seem amazing online but have yet to view an actual book. Has anyone done one or seen one or know of a local photographer who does them? here's a link that gives an example of these albums...graphistudios

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
Mark Kauffman has a coffee table album - I would say check him out. I think a few girls have gotten them. I looked at it and although I love photojournalism we didn't like the table book - we thought it wouldn't hold up well and it - I hate to say it reminded me of some of my yearbooks. So I doubt I will go with one - but some girls have upgraded to one when they get their proofs.www.markkauffman.com

I'm getting the Soho Album, it is a digital album and it comes with a funky cover and display case.A few photographers I found have it, but the lie about doing the work inside the sample they show you. The sample comes from the factory were the album is made. Anyway, I went with John from VIP

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
AmyKay, what is a SoHo album? Is that what the digital coffee table albums are called? Where are you having yours made up? Fine Arts in Jericho has great photographers and packages but his coffee table album was an extra $800 or $900. They are beautiful, but not at that price.I am sure with scanners, there must be places who can make these later on, as a Christmas or Anniversary gift. I would love to find out where.

I just got mine! Actually my parents have it and are flying it down to pensacola, Mine is by Timesless Classics (I think) the master piece allbum.Commack Wedding Center did mine and they didn't lie about the sample, but from there other work done by my photographer erick I knew he could handle it.
!!!! It was worth every penny in my book!
Plus you get so many extra pictures!

Jessica - I'm using JoVon - they have photojournalists (I'm using Beth) and my main photographer is Telmo. They have a lot of album choices. You can have the pictures done on the entire page like the link you gave showed.JoVon

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
I am also getting a coffee table style album.. what is great about it is that you can have WAY more photos than in a traditional album- I am having about 120-150 pictures in mine.. I can tell you that my album is $1,000 in addition to my package price.

Patken has them too. They even have little chunky books (like the teeny ones you see in Borders book store) - they're so cute!

My photographer does one as well. My fiance and I just fell in love and decided we had to have one. I can't wait to see how it comes out. His name is Jeff Tisman.http://www.jefftismanphotography.com/index_flash.html

My photographer offers them but it costs about $12.00/picture. You should check out Lawrence Photography (718) 631-1021, web: lawrencephotography, they are located in Bayside.Good Luck!!!

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
Im working with Mark Kauffmans studio's on my coffee table book now.The traditional albums are too dated for me...and I had way too many photos to be happy with even a tremendous book :D I like the creative 'freedom' the coffee table book gives me.
I have not see the one you have posted but Ive seen the Digicraft one and its great. Ive spoken to a few other photographers and they all agree its one of the best out there.
Edited to add: I love the coffee table books but they are A LOT more work. So if you want easy - its probably not a good option for you.

I am also using Mark Kauffman and I am getting a coffee table book. It is just more of my and FI's style. The traditional stuff reminded us of our parent's albums. And you can add so many more pictures and be more creative in the layout.

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
I am getting something similar to what you want from VIPthe only difference I think is the cover, there are only leather options, but you can have a leather cover with a photo in it. Just not that first selection of covers on the website you linked to.
I love these albums and one of the best things is the amount of pictures you can get.
like Amykay said,
John also has a soho book which is neat too,
the difference basically btw the two books is
the soho is smaller in dimensional size (more square shape) so you have a few less pictures
and the covers, the soho has a fabric cover with a coverlet,
and the coffeetable book has a leather cover with or without a picture.
good luck with your search.
I havent gotten my album yet, so can help with finish product, havent picked all the pics out Yet, so hard

Wedding Group One also offers these albums. They have locations in Soho and Flushing. I used them as my photogrphers and I loved my pics.

Re: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE COFFEE TABLE ALBUMS/BOOKS?
i agree about the traditional albums... they look like my mothers and everyone else's for that matter (which is still beutiful) but we wanting something different and more casual and fun to display our pictures. i am concerned with how it will hold up though. any comments from brides who have already received them?someone mentioned patken does them, is that right?
thanks for the feedback ladies!
