Mother..controlling..talking behind back VENT

Yesterday i hear her talking on the phone to my sister... shes askin 'what time should we start the reception at '.. then she tells her that she is splurging for the canoli cake, and adding pastries on. then she tells my sister that my her daughter(my flowergirl) should be left home for the reception.. and that if my BIL parents decide to come she has idea's of who to sit them with!!!
... AHEMMMM It is MY choice when it starts at, IM the one who decided on canoli cake, and Im the one who decided to add dessert trays on the tables!! and shes not 'splurging for it '... I Budgeted it under the set amount im getting from them! I went into the room and told her that 'I' am the one who is doing all that, that is is MYidea.. I said you had your wedding years ago .. and she goes ' im paying for it'... my parents are giving me a set amount.. i budgeted so it would cover the receptionhall...they arent paying for the whole wedding.. Then today I hear her telling someone else... 'I dont know why she would pick a hall so far away, shes just so stubborn you cant tell her anythingshes impossible to deal with'... this is sounding like what other people on here vent about!

I had the same prob. w/my mom (only they weren't paying for any of it!). I finally approached her when we weren't mad and told her that I really needed her support in my decisions, her enthusiasm, and for her not to say anything negative to others about what I'd chosen....I told her that she'd either have to do that for me or I'd have to stop discussing the wedding with her at all.
I said I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I just really wanted to enjoy my day and not be upset with her or anyone else.

She got it, and the last 6 months she's been my biggest supporter...

Maybe it would work with your mom?

Take it for what it is worth. Try to stay calm and let it just roll off of you , otherwise it is going to eat you up. I wish I had my mom to complain about and my dad they both passed away, be happy they are there for you no matter how bad it sounds what she is saying right now, I would do anything to hear my mom or dad even if it was her/him complaining.
