Iman Bridal Couture Opinions Please HELP!!!!

I just purchased my gown at this salon last week. I had a WONDERFUL experience with them but, in the past few days i have been hearing negative comments about them on this board and now i am getting nervous! I want alot of changes made to my gown and they promised me they would be able to do them...am I in trouble?

SO...please tell me the negative things you have heard....is it just from brides that have looked there and didn't like the saleswoman or has anyone heard that they screwed up ordering or fittings or alterations????

PLEASE HELP....i looked them up on the bbb and saw they have some complaints and now i am wondering if i should (or even can) cancel the order and get the dress someplace else

I have also heard some negative things about them on this board. I have tried some dresses on there. But my sister actually worked at Iman for a summer. Here is what I know:

Iman often changes designer gowns and then calls them originals and charges a lot more. According to my sister, she also waits until the last moment to make alterations. When I tried on dresses there, there was absolutely no privacy. A million people kept walking in on me naked! I am not even a modest person and it bothered me because it kept happening. I think Iman is nice one moment and then a pain the next. When I was there, she was yelling at her employees.

Thanks for responding...did your sister say anything about the quality of the alterations...did people complain that they didn't do a good job? One of the reasons i liked them was that Iman is a designer herself so i figured i could trust her more with changes that need to be made etc.

Please ask her if people ever complained about the quality of the work etc... THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH

you might want to do a search on theknot. i haven't ever used them, so i can't comment personally, but i do remember reading some negative reviews on there.

Girls...i have tried to do a search on the knot but nothing really comes up...do you know how far back theknot.com searches? it seems like i am only able to get posts from one month ago...is there a way to search further back?

I recently ordered my tiara through them.
It hasn't come in yet (2 months to make), so I don't have much feedback.

I thought they were ok. Although I'll admit, they weren't as professional as I expected.

THANKS! I read that and that is when i started really freaking out. I just don't know what to do. The deposit is half the cost of the dress

PLUS, none of those posts are about bridal gowns just bm's gowns and mob gowns...it still scares me though.

Wish i could speak to someone who bought their gown there

did she cap the cost of alterations? if not, why not get the dress through her since you already put a deposit down, and take it to someone else for alterations who you feel more comfortable with. if that is not a possibility, i say cancel the order. look how stressed you are right now.... when you find your dress and order it, you should be on cloud nine, not pulling your hair out. there is enough stress involved in this wedding stuff, no need to add more to it!

I ordered from Iman. I haven't got my dresses yet, they said end of May -hope they come in o.k and when she said.

I have 2 friends who worked with Iman & did very well. Both were custom made dresses ... muslin fittings & everything. First friend looked beautiful in her tulle dress ... but by the end of the night, some of the tulle had ripped on the bottom & she was dragging it around behind her.

My other friend gets married in July, but she's been happy so far.

I went there on both recommendations, & was not happy with the way they treated us. I did find the dress that I loved there, but I also found it in Lillette's as well & was SO happy about it! And it was less in Lillette's. I'm so glad b/c I would have dreaded doing business with Iman.
