Need Truly Different Ideas
My goal is for my wedding to be truly different from any past events people have attended. I read on this board ideas that people feel are unique, but really in the end are not that different. Please tell me the truly most unusual (but still classy) things people have done. Here are the stats on the wedding:
Oheka Castle (Saturday night in September 2004)
String Quartet for cocktail hour and ceremony
The band is 747, an all motown/disco/soul band
The wedding will be followed by a jazz hour by another band in Oheka's library where they will serve chocolate covered strawberries, cordials, brandy dipped cigars, champagne and truffles.

I am a bit confused.....you seem to have everything planned out...what kind of ideas are you looking for? I;m kinda confused---maybe having a 'redhead' moment!

I'm a bit confused as well. I thought you haven't seen any ideas that are unique on here? Well, anyways, what kind of things are you looking for ideas on? I'm sure we can come up with something!

Re: Need Truly Different Ideas
How about putting 15 or 20 large white calla lilies in a tall fluted vase since the ceilings are so high in Oheka. Very elegant! The votive candles on the main staircase are very romantic too!

The arrangement when you 1st walk in could be a garden of callas at all staggard heights. Maybe hang a greenery garland with ivy along the iron railing instead of the typical satin.

Re: Need Truly Different Ideas
its all about a theme...ie. jenny11.9 , who got married at Oheka, did all white...
you could do a great gatsby theme or what a certain flower...you need a lot at oheka, but that gives you an opportunity to really show them off
