Anybody thinking of buying a house in New Jersey?

We went to a wedding in West Orange this Saturday, but the ceremony was in Morganville, which pretty far from the city, but it's so nice there! The air is so clean and the houses are so pretty and everything around is so well kept and taken care of!!! We really considered moving to NJ when I saw all that! I understand the prices there are better hen on LI for the same type of property! Any thoughts?

We are may be potentially considering that, in a little while from now, when the baby making time comes. Until then, its Brooklyn.

NJ definitely has an advantage in that its less expensive for the same thing. But it also depends where you live.

Re: Anybody thinking of buying a house in New Jersey?

Yes, I live in NJ now (originally from Queens). Right now we live in Hudson County, but are moving in July to Morris, Sussex or Bergen. We are renting now but plan to buy. It's a LOT cheaper to buy a house in certain parts of northern NJ and an easy commute to NYC. Especially cheaper is Sussex / Warren. FM me if you have questions!

We will be renbting an apartment for a year or 2 and tehn buying a house. I think Northern is more expensive than Southern (depending on the area) so keep that in mind.

Re: Anybody thinking of buying a house in New Jersey?

My FI and I are living in a townhouse in NJ- actually not too far from West Orange. I don't like that it's an hour to my parents in Long Island but the area is nice and its' a quicker commute to the city. My train takes 25 minutes express. We are probably going to buy a house in the same area and the prices are a little cheaper than Long Island. But I think the closer you are to NYC the more expensive it is. Although yes, still cheaper than Long Island.
