Help! FMIL driving me INSANE!!

Help! FMIL driving me INSANE!!

My FMIL is making me nuts!!

She is planning our RD, and wants to have it on the Friday night before our wedding (our wedding is on a Sunday morning). I don't think it's fair to have it on Friday, since many people will be coming from out of town. If we have it on Saturday, those people will most likely already be here for the wedding, since they're booking hotel rooms. They're not going to want to drive all the way back to upstate NY or Western NJ at 11:00 on Friday night just to turn around and come back again Saturday afternoon. That's just not right. One of my friends is even coming from California, and she only planned on staying over Saturday night. I have to consider other people's situations. I know it is my wedding, but I still feel like it is selfish to demand that people be at my beck and call. How should I deal with her?

What about the church, say the church is only avaible at a certain time, and fib if you have to.

We're not having it at a church, the ceremony is at the same place as our reception....

Just sit her down and tell her it just isnt going to work for the out of towners. How about having a get together w/ family on Fri. and a get together for your other people on Sat? This way you both get what you want?

Are you having the officiant at the RD?

Otherwise tell your FH that you want the entire BP to be there, so you would like it on the SAt.

I am also getting married on Sunday, but I am having it on Friday, because I don't want to be dealing with it on the day before my wedding, and if I want to have a drink or too, I don't want to have the after effects of alcohol.

Good idea... no, our officiant isn't going to attend the RD. I am going to try to convince her to have a brunch instead of a dinner, on Saturday morning/early afternoon. That way all of our out-of-towners will already be in the area to check into their hotel rooms. I'll figure it out, it just gets so frustrating!! And I admit I'm a bit of a control freak, but I don't want her turning me into a BRIDEZILLA!!! LOL!
