Poll: Crafty girls, how long does it take for you to do a project
I have not one creative bone in my body and it takes me FOREVER to do something.I started a needlepoint piece in 2001 and I am not even close to the halfway point. So far thats been my only creative item and all I had to do was follow the outline and believe me my flower looks like a sick bug.
When you girls do projects how long does it usually take you???

I t depends on what it is, I did a needle work project that took me 4 months, but it was huge and it had alot of shading.Have you tried picking it up again, to maybe finish it.
I ahve a lot of projects that are for myself that I have notfinished, becasue I have started gifts for others, wedding and babies.

my piece isnt even huge. Its a beginners thing so its maybe 4 inches by 4 inches.I have tried to pick it up again, then I put it back down
I am now working on a scrapbook thing. I have pics of all the parties and events FI and I have been too and making a cute scrapbook of it. Its nothing fancy, just something I am giving a try.

Maybe neddle point is just not for you, maybe try something else, go to Michaels and walk around till you find something that peaks your interest.

Re: Poll: Crafty girls, how long does it take for you to do a project
My projects always take me a long time. I like everything to be 'just so' and I take my time. Ive never done needlepoint but I have a quilt that I started in 1998 that is 2 squares down and will never be finished. Sometimes some projects are not 'worth' the time involved. As soon as I realized how much work was going to be involved into making one thing, I realized it was not for me!As for scrapbooking, I really like doing it on the PC instead of on paper. For one, it only cost me $$ when Im completely finished and ready to print. Two, I dont have to damage my photos or worry about archiving them since they are digital replicas. Three, whenever I want I can go back to the project...dont have to get out any supplies or need clean counter space...just need to turn on the PC.

Yeah i tried needlepoint and i just didn't have fun with it. So i tried crocheting which i like. And tole/one stroke painting which i LOVE! I also make candles too, which is fun!! someday i'll have a craft booth! Decoupage is fun and easy too!It does depend on what i'm doing... some things take an hour, some days... with the painting, all the waiting for stuff to dry takes the most time.

Re: Poll: Crafty girls, how long does it take for you to do a project
stef I like your idea of doing it on the computer. I just started putting a lot of pics onto shutterfly and have been playing with the borders and stuff on it. I have so much scanned I've been playin with the effects....Thanks I like that idea A LOT!!!
yea I dont think needlepoint is for me.
My friend is an art major and teaches art in elementary schools and I am so jealous. I had a baby shower and she made me this amazing basket.
I think I am going to stick to scrapbooks and candles.
Thanks to a girl on here I am going to do the shadowbox for my BM's. I love the idea. If I start it now I'll have it done in time for the wedding.
