Questions for LI girls getting married in NYC
1. If you are getting married in a church in NYC, was it easy to get a church to marry you even though you didn't belong to their parish?2. Are you hiring Long Island based vendors that are traveling into the city or city vendors? Does this matter?
3. Are you traveling into the city the morning of your wedding or are you staying over the night before in a hotel?
3b. If you are traveling in the morning of, are you having your make-up, hair, etc done at home before you travel, or are you having it done in the city (in a hotel room or bridal suite or something)?
4. Did your limo pick you up at home and drive you into the city, or did it pick you up from a location in the city?
Ok, that's it for now, but I'm sure I'll come up with more questions...
Thanks!

Re: Questions for LI girls getting married in NYC
I'm doing the opposite (live in the city but marrying on li). Here's what we're doing:Spending the weekend in the hotel (everything is happening right there-ceremony, reception, etc.).
Hair and makeup people are coming to me (one city-but she's a friend who's spending the night, the other from LI). Most other vendors (dress, dj,photo, etc) are city vendors, travelling. It was easier than going out to LI to meet with vendors all the time...trust me.
Edited to add: You don't want your limo driving you into the city day of...really. You could be stuck on the LIE for hours on a bad day, esp. in summer when there's construction....ugh.

Re: Questions for LI girls getting married in NYC
Thanks julybride444. I appreciate the info. The vendors I have so far are from LI for the same reason. I just hope they don't decide to charge travel fees! Are your vendors from NYC charging you for traveling to LI? I don't know if they'll charge me extra because when I booked them I was planning a wedding on LI so it didn't matter.Welcome New Vendors
