Photographer advice: Full View Studios

Has anyone heard of them, good or bad? The guys name is Hal. We just booked them and I'm just a little nervous not going with someone who was recommended. We loved the pics but it's not a big name studio. Is this risky?

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

I went to go look at his pics and I thought that they were beautiful. If you do a search on him you might find some negative comments saying that he keeps calling brides (very pushy). Do not let this influence your decision. I know that Hal can be somewhat annoying if you haven't booked him.

However, his pictures speak for themselves - they are really great - especially with 2 photographers. We were going to book him until I saw Duet. His prices with the 2nd photographer were too high for me. He was the only other photographer that my FH wanted to consider until Duet.

Do not think twice about him. His personality is a little off but his pics certainly are not. Sometimes people forget at these big places that they have salespeople to talk with you.

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

Yes, Hal is my photographer. He does the color/posed shots and we got a 2nd photographer to do b&w/candids, an assistant, and we're going with his video guy too. We loved the combination of traditional posed and photojournalist style. His work is beautiful, from what I've seen.

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

Very nice!!!!! My FI saw where he went to school for photography (it was on his wall) and said that it was a top school - very difficult to get in.

Don't worry, your pics will come out beautiful!!!!

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

By the way, you can FM me if you don't want to post it. Did he work with you on the price? When he called me back and said that I didn't book with him b/c he was to expensive - he said he could have worked with me on the price of the 2nd photographer and video.

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

We're using Hal. He is slightly flighty, and I was a bit concerned about some negative things I read about him on here & the Knot (which essentially boiled down to the fact that he calls people trying to get them to book & can be annoying), but we really liked him. Anyway, I trust our judgement & we were happy with our engagement pictures.
Also, I think that with these boards a lot of vendors get recycled -- people on here use them, so they recommend them, and other people on here use them. Just because a vendor isn't used by a ton of LIW brides doesn't mean they aren't good.
Best of luck!

Re: Photographer advice: Full View Studios

We are using Hal as well and I felt the same way..hes a little flightly. I am not worried though..his pics are great. The only thing that bugs me is that he still can't tell me definitely if he is going to be the photographer that day. He says right now yes but he can't guarentee it!!! We went with the 2 photographers, asst, and video as well.
