Need Opinions :Buying Bridemaids Dresses vs Gifts

I really like Panoply design dresses for my bridemaids but I know that they will be a little too pricey for my girls. Should I pay for them and skip the gifts. I would probably still get something really small and inexpensive just to say thanks. What do you girls think?

How much are your girls willing/expecting to spend? Maybe they can pay say $100-$150 (Or however much), then you can pay for the balance? Also, have you tried netbride, RK bridal, or commack wedding center? Their prices are very low for most designers.

N&L, they are not too pricey at all!!

My girls got them.. I was able to get them for 138 each!!!!

Really, they are in $150 range? I thought they are more expensive. I just am toying with the idea of buy dresses rather than gifts. I can't imagine what gift I can get to please everyone and so far it looks like I'll be having 8 girls

I think that's a great idea (as long as it's affordable for you)! I was a BM soooo many times and I know I would have kissed the bride who paid for my gown as a gift!!!

Let me clarify.. They are pricey if you get them through a salon, they can run you anywhere from 200-350

but I got mine through RK Bridal.. their no frills program..

this is what you do.. go to netbride and get a quote from them, or WHEREVER.. if it's less than Rk's price, they will not only match it but they will deduct 15% as well! !

I would have loved my cousin even more if SHE paid for our dresses. She gave us a plaster 'thing' that I threw out.

I would say get the dress... and you could give them a little accessory for an added gift!

I think that is a great idea! I don't think you even need to add anything to it. I am actually doing the same thing for my flower girl. The dress is $350 and I just feel too bad asking them to pay for it.
