Joint bank account question

After people got the marriage license from the town but not married yet, were you able to open a joint checking account using Mr. & Mrs. ______ . Someone sent us a check but made it out to Mr. & Mrs. _______ - do we have to wait until after we are married?

We had a joint bank acct before we were married & we both signed it with our names before we got married

Me: Jennifer Smith (name before marriage)
Him: John Doe

Call your bank & ask what you should do.

can't you have FH sign it and cash it since it has his last name on it?
we got checks made out to FH only for our e-party and he signed them over to me so i could deposit them into an account that has only my name on it.

since his name is on the account...they will take it into consideration...they may tell you to wait though...so that you can sign the name that is written on the check

I am the same as jennbaby. We both signed the checks and deposited them in the joint account. Ask your bank.
