Re: The Bridal Building in NYC
Is it the one at 1385 broadway? I was there back in the fall and I wasn't too thrilled with it. My FSIL and FMIL swear by it and FSIL got her dress there and they pretty much made it especially for her. They even matched the detail on her dress to her veil and gave her extra applices (sp??) to put on her shoes. I thought it was a little shady, though-I was worried some of the shops wouldn't be there in a month!

Re: The Bridal Building in NYC
If you're talking about the Bridal Bldg at 1385 Broadway - I don't think that's true about not making appointments on Saturday - as a matter of fact I was told you had to have an appt. to go in on Saturday, but don't think that's true either. If you act like you know where you're going, you can walk right on in & I think most of the shops are on 11-13 floors. We ordered our dresses in the Bridal Building. I got an excellent price cuz the owner matched the lowest price I found on the internet (Bridalmarketplace.com)
We didn't try on dresses there tho. We tried at RK, got the info off the net & ordered that way.
It was crowded - but what bridal salon isn't crowded on a Saturday?
But I will say walk right on past the ladies in the lobby - they're the ones where you can 'win' free trips & such.

Re: The Bridal Building in NYC
Oh & 1 more thing - if you are worried about the shop being shady, check em out w/the BBB! I did & found the shop I'm using had 3 complaints in the past 36 months & zero complaints in the past year - 2 were resolved & 1 was not resolved to the customer's satisfaction. I didn't think those were bad odds for a Manhattan shop! Good luck!

I went and didn't think it was that great! There are tons of little shops and they're not very organized. Too much of a headache for me! JMO!Welcome New Vendors
