Wedding Colors - need help
Hi ladies! Everyone keeps asking what colors I want for my wedding (BM dresses and such). How did you pick yours and is there any thread/website you can recommend where I can get ideas? Thanks!

Re: Wedding Colors - need help
You can do a Search here and you will get lots of hits. I chose black b/c I like black - if I could wear a black wedding dress I'd be the happiest! - and b/c I think everyone looks good in black. It's a color that everyone would wear again...and that is a concern for me.What time of year are you getting married? Any favorite colors? How different are the shapes of your BMs? Wedding theme?

Me too!!!!!!!!!!
Black is my color and everyone keeps joking around that I better not buy a black wedding dress!! I would have definitely put my BM's in it, but I'm getting married in July (too hot).
And the BMs come in all shapes and sizes..
Wedding theme...??? What do you mean? My favorite colors are a bruise!! Black and blue!!!!

Re: Wedding Colors - need help
I've been told to choose colors that flatter YOU since you'll be surrounded by the girls in pictures. If pink is your color, choose that, if champagne makes your skin glow, choose that....Pastels are my color, skin-wise. Unfortunately they're not the most re-useable colors as far as gowns go
But they're your pictures and any good BM wears what she's asked, I know I have!!

Re: Wedding Colors - need help
I wore a Hunter green (very shiny - metallic??) taffeta dress with white lace on the drape that falls off the shoulder.
I was told it can be worn again, yeah right!!! If I had a scanner I would post it for you.
How do you girls feel about one color and letting the BMs choose the style?

Re: Wedding Colors - need help
I'm getting married Labor Day weekend, 2004. As a guest, I'd wear black - regardless of the time of year - so I don't think I need to follow any rules...so black it is! ;) I'm also not a fan of pastels or light colors so I wouldn't choose that. I do like the steel grey colors...that was a consideration along with a deep (garnet) red.Theme...as in some girls are doing sunflowers or butterflies.

Re: Wedding Colors - need help
That's what I'm doing...picking the color, the material-type (I'm wearing chiffon so I don't want them in something shiney) & length (I'm leaning heavily towards tea length dresses) - and showing them a ton of dresses that I like...and letting them pick. They're all grown women with different heights & body shapes...I don't see why I should subject them all to the same dress - especially if 1 or 2 hates it.Welcome New Vendors
