For couples that paid or are paying for there own wedding....

when it came time to book the honeymoon, did you try to save a little or did you go all out and didn't care?

not that FI have started to plan your honeymoon, he always says that it the one part of this 'celebration' that is only for the two of us so if we're spending 30-40k we shouldn't sell ourselves short and go on a cheap HM

No skimping on the HM for us either. Aside from the vows, it's the only thing about the *wedding* that is truly *just* for us...but that's just our opinion.

When we talk about hotels, FI seems to want to stay somewhere nicer then we would usually stay. We are going to San Fran and driving down Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Barbara, spending two nights in Las Vegas. We would usually stay somewhere like the TROPICANIA (SP?) in Las Vegas, but he is talking about staying at the Belogio, Venician or the Parisian...

Well- we are still deciding on where to go. I wouldn't say I am skimping. But I am not going all out either. I would love to goto Tahiti, but we just cant afford it. So we may just go to Mexico & stay at a top notch hotel.

We tried to save here and there, but then we decided just forget it and kinda splurge. We'll worry about paying it off after..it will be worth it!

We went all out.l 3 weeks in Fiji. It's the nicest vacation we'll ever take.

We defintely budgeted for the honeymoon. We are paying for the wedding 100% ourselves and buying a home (tmrw!!) so we weren't even to go on a honeymoon but we decided to go but on a smaller scale. We are doing 8 days in Aruba as opposed to 2 weeks in Europe or Brazil like we had hoped. We are still VERY happy though

curly, you cannot go wrong w/aruba

Len and I went all out in Hawaii. It was wonderful. We would've had a good time no matter what b/c we were so darn happy to be HMers

I once read that the majority of newlyweds regret not going all out for their HM, so with that in mind - we're going all out! I scrimp and save with everything else in my life for this wedding, so our HM is like my reward!

We kept it reasonable, we didn't cut corners, but we bargained and searched for teh best deal. We are staying in an all-inclusive hotel, full 7 days and we will treat ourselves once we get down there.

We paid for the wedding and honeymoon 100%, and we did not go all out on our honeymoon. We knew we would be buying a house right after (actually went to contract 3 days prior) and to me moving into a house was soooo much more important. We have the rest of our lives together to go on the bigger more expensive trips.

We're going all out too, as much as we can... we do have to keep an eye on how much we spend, but my FH says 'we only have one wedding, so let's make sure we do it right!'. It was his idea to stay in the Plaza on our wedding night... he's actually been responsible for most of the HM arrangements. I guess he feels like he wants to be involved somehow, since I handled everything else!

We are paying for everything ourselves.

We are going to Riviera Maya for a week.

We are staying at one of the top resorts there.

I am really looking forward to it!!!!!
