I have been living in Southold over 1 1/2 years, but my sister does my hair. I can however, tell you NOT go to the Village Hair Studio - I went there about 8-9 months ago and was not happy. I'll see who my fsil uses - she has been living out here longer than i have.

no, i do remember she was younger than the other women and she had long brown hair. She barely said anything to me the whole time and ended up hardly even trimming my hair even though it took her about an hour to do! It was too weird for me. Then, they charged me 10.00 more than what i was told over the phone before i came in and they said they have no idea who i spoke to but that was their price. (i think i paid 30). Anyway, i am waiting to hear from my fsil and i'll let you know a better place to try. I am sure she uses a place in greenport.

Doesn't the make-up artist DanielleRenee have a salon out there? I don't know if they do hair, but I am going for my make-up trial with her this Sunday, and will be going out to her in Southold. She said that 'her shop will be empty', but I don't know if it's just make-up and nails (she mentioned something about a lot of women getting pedicures this summer!) or if they do hair too. I will let you know when I get back from my trial, if you want!

ok - i say try it out! it was only my experience from one visit there, anyway. Actually, i was interested in some makeup info (i would like to do my own but need some product info) so maybe i'll check her out, too!
