MY ENGAGEMENT PARTY PICS AND REVIEW!!!!!

I had my Engagement party last weekend out east on my sister's deck and despite the monsoon rain, it was amazing!!!

NY Tent : A+
We rented a large white tent, cocktail tables, white wooden chairs and linens from this company and everything was perfect. Delivery was prompt and customer service was excellent. I changed my mind on a few things and they were very accommodating.

In the Mix DJs : C-
I wish I had a better review for this company, but I was not happy with them AT ALL. I will say that so many people were dancing all night (at one point I thought the deck might collapse ) and that is the only reason I didn't give them an F! Let me explain: My dissatisfaction with them started when the saleswoman from the office called me at work a week before the party to tell me 'how concerned' she was about the 'success of my party.' I was like, 'Oh my god, what is wrong?' Can you believe this drama was all because I didn't have a party lighting package. I was soooooo annoyed, she was insisting that this lighting will make the party and totally implied that the party will bomb without it. I explained that 'party lighting' wasn't the atmosphere I had in mind. I felt that she was being totally manipulative and overly persistent and I didn't appreciate her attempt to make me feel like my affair would be inadequate without her stupid freakin lighting......OKAY on to my next issue.... I mailed the company a request list with 95 songs on it (yes 95!), three weeks before the party. I called to confirm that this list was received and it was. They seemed concerned about the list because they didn't have all the songs on it (it was a pretty basic list, nothing foreign, unheard of or hard to get), I explained that I was going to have a very diverse (old, young, my friends dance, his friends are into rock etc.) guest list and that I didn't want anyone to feel isolated by the music. I wanted oldies, dance, rock etc. I explained that my list was more of a guideline to point out the kind of thing I was looking for and I said I would be thrilled if they even played half of the songs on the list. I was told that would be fine. Well, the DJ arrived (early) and had the list in hand, I thought all is well. I made sure he understood that I didn't want to isolate anyone, I wanted everyone to leave having heard some of their favorite tunes and he explained to me that he didn't have all of the songs on the list, but that he had some and would do his best. Then he asked, 'so you want a mix, like house, disco and freestyle?' Okay, I got nervous, I said, 'some house is good, a little disco is fine, absolutely no freestyle and please don't forget about oldies and rock. Okay stick to the list as much as possible and everything will be okay.' Really long story short, he played almost all house, reggae (I had no reggae on my list by the way), and even freestyle!!!!! I freakin heard Judy Torres playing!!!!!!! At that point, I was too drunk to care and everyone was having a good time so I let it go. Next thing I know, my drunken BM, whom I love dearly but cannot sing at all, is on the mic singing Love Shack! Okay, who approved karaoke?? Then she did another number that I can't remember. People watched in disbelief and laughed! I really believe a more professional DJ would not have allowed this without asking me first. Finally, since everyone was dancing all night, I wanted to negotiate a price for overtime, but was told that this could only be done with his boss. The DJ kept trying to call his boss and page him, but could not get a hold of him, so no overtime for me (there must be a better system than this?) I honestly think I heard about ten songs from my list of 95. There were no oldies, no rock, NO DIVERSITY. Many of my older guests went inside and I even heard an uncle mumble, 'Enough with this rap ****!' I just laughed it off, but this is exactly what I was trying to avoid. The actual DJ was super sweet, I guess he just didn't know any better. I would never ever use this company for my wedding. I chose them in the first place because they gave me the best price. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for! Oh yeah, by the way, the boss called back like an hour after the DJ left and said, 'did someone page me?' When I explained the situation to him and told him nice going on the response time, he got nasty and brought up how cheap we got the DJ in the first place. Like I said, you get what you pay for!!

Okay, I was skeptical, everyone on here makes such a big deal about her and I doubted she would live up to the hype. She did!!!! I absolutely loved her and I loved my make-up. If only I could do my own eyes that way! She did exactly what I asked and I couldn't have been any happier. I booked her for my wedding! My only concern is that I looked oily very early on and it shows in the pics. I know this is the fault of my skin and not JN, but I really need to work on this before the wedding.

That's it for the review, the food was delish, but it was catered by my mom and my sis! Except for the chicken cutlet and fresh mozzarella hero that we ordered from Mama Lombardi's (which was so good)! I got the lighting myself and the centerpieces were done by V&S03! We just ran to Costco the morning of and bought tons of roses and put them in vases we got for like $1.99 each.

Absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!1 You make a beautiful couple and your bm's look awesome! The room was spectacular!

And in themix...I HATED THEM!!!!!!!!!! I hated them when we went there to talk to them..i would never ever recommend them to anyone! Im happy you saw what I saw in them...total obnoxiousness, if that a word! LOL

(for the DJ, maybe he kept doing what he was going because people kept dancing,,,butthe fact that you GAVE A LIST, and did not play from it was unexcusable, expecially since the older crowd did not enjoy it.)

Again, I will say it was an amazing party. We all had so much fun We didn't plan on matching our outfits, it just happened that way, it did look cool though in the pics. Evenedan and her FH look so great together, their the best!

Everything looked great. Sorry about the DJ the nerve of some people what the owner/manager told you means that his company doesn't care about the people that pay less than the ones that pay more... crappy way to run a business!!
