What to do with Out of towners and immediate family/bridal party the day before wedding?

We are not having a rehearsal dinner, becuase we are jewish, so they rehearse right before the ceremony. We are going to have out of town guests and want to do something with them the afternoon before the wedding, We were thinking of doing something inexpensive perhaps an early dinner/ late lunch. We do not want to spend an arm and a leg on this becuase the wedding we are paying for by ourselves. Any suggestions for a place to eat that is not too expensive? We were thinking a Chinese reatuarant or buffet, but are wondering what other options there may be? The wedding is on Carle Place so I would need something near there or Nassau county. Thanks in advance, you girls are the best!

Re: What to do with Out of towners and immediate family/bridal party the day before wedding?

do you live in that area or have relatives around there? would you want to do a bbq?

oops- i just saw that your wedding is in march. well, what about doing something indoors if someone is willing to open their home? or you could check with the hotel your guests are staying at and see how much something like that would be. if you do a buffet, they are usually not that much money. i'm not familar w/ carle place so i don't know any restaurants there.

depending on the tastes of your group - you could do it at a jillian's type place. or how about bertucci's? olive garden?

Our wedding location gave us a long list of possible places for our RD. Maybe your guests hotel or reception location can help provide you with a list of possibilites.

Good luck!!!

I've been giving props to Jillian's ever since I booked them.

You can book a private room . . .your guests can roam the facility to play pool, they can bowl, or do video games . . . and you can get a customized menu.

We chose something that was $13.99 pp.

Do can do something on the high end like 30.00 pp or you can do a huge variety of finger foods.

Good luck.

If you're thinking of doing Chinese, you can try Harvest Buffet on Northern Blvd in Great Neck. The food is excellent!!

love the chinese buffet idea!! my GF did this for her RD. it was a blast!!! it's usually on the inexpensive side and it's casual, so it encourages mingling.

Re: What to do with Out of towners and immediate family/bridal party the day before wedding?

How about a trip to NYC for the out of towners? We got married on a Sunday and had the rehearsal on Friday, so Sat was a free day. Since our out of towners had never been to NYC, we all just went into the city and hit the major sites. That way you can feel like you are entertaining in a sense with out spending an arm and a leg on another event for everyone. Everyone can just take the train in, go have some NY pizza for lunch and the day is taken care of!

Re: What to do with Out of towners and immediate family/bridal party the day before wedding?

I'll be doing the NYC day trip as well....
but incorporating the bridal luncheon then & mani/pedi's for the girls.

We're all staying near the Crest Hollow, so I'm thinking of booking either:

Ayians Shish Kebob- South Oyster Bay Rd. in Plainview Shopping Center for a light dinner. It's Greek & has a great menu. They have a pre-set menu w/ drinks included. ...
OR...

Mario's- Old Country Road- Plainview)
Good Italian food- not very expensive. Good atmosphere for groups!

Good luck!
