Anyone use Fromers or Lonely Planet or other guide book?
Which would you recommend?

I found Frommers Website most helpful for our trip to Italy.
Check them out

its pretty good and you can check the chat boards on the certain areas you would like to visit and see what other people have to say, I liked it

Re: Anyone use Fromers or Lonely Planet or other guide book?
It depends what type of trip you are taking. Lonely Planet is great if you're backpacking and staying in youth hostels. They have lists of cheap places to eat. But it's so packed with information that it's sometimes hard to navigate. I've always had great luck with Frommer's. They have lists of tours and restaurants that vary widely in prices. It's also an easy guide to read. I've used Fodor's once and found their recomendations to be a bit pricey. Good luck!
