Wow, I missed a lot of DRAMA(concerning my wedding) Please Read!

I'm back from my HM, (first day at work today). I just read about some of the drama that happened on the boards while I was gone on my HM. Just skimmed a little of it just now. Since it had to do with my wedding, I thought I should post. Just wanted to give some facts first...Allure did say that she would attend the wedding and she gave me her full name so that I could make a placecard for her. I'm assuming she's real if she gave me her real name. I did not receive a FM from her saying that she would not be able to attend. While I said that I had about 10 no shows, a lot were b/c some people did not bring dates when they said they would. And the rest were circumstances that were emergencies. Although it's easier not to be disappointed by someone I have not met not showing up to my wedding as opposed to a family member, I was disappointed as it was someone from the boards who did not show up. Just b/c everyone here knows how stressful headcounts can be and also how important they are. In my defense (as I saw that someone wrote that it was crazy of me to invite girls from the board to my wedding in defense of Allure), I figured since I had a minimum guarantee, why not invite people from here who have contributed moral and wedding support to me for over a year and a half. I knew that if they wanted to come they would have a good time and maybe it would help them with their weddings as well. I was just trying to be nice, why should I pay for empty plates when people can enjoy themselves? I was happy that people could attend. Also planning from CA, it was nice to meet some of the girls from the board since I cannot attend the GTG in NY. That was my reasoning. I'm sure that most of you support that and may do the same when it is your time. I was disappointed by the no show of Allure as I could have invited other people in her place and didn't. She did FM me an apology just so you all know. I guess that is all I have to say, but I do want to thank those who have been nice enough to stick up for me during my HM and of course those that I got the pleasure to meet at my wedding!

I'm hoping that all the drama did not cause too much heartache!

I think you did a wonderful thing inviting people to your wedding that you may not have even known. That was pretty gutsy of you to do! Don't worry about what others think, say, or feel. Know that in your heart you did the right thing! Hey, I would have gone if I wasn't alredy going away! I am really glad that you had nice weather and a great turn out! All the best!

July- Just so you know you are NOT crazy to have invited LIW friends to your wedding. I, for one, have been on this board for over 2 years and have made some wonderful, REAL friends. I actually attended both Cindy and SonicStef's showers and weddings. Claud2001 and I were friends from long before LIW as many of you know. And all 3 attended my shower and wedding.

I also had a number of no-shows and it really hurts because all someone has to do is call you. I still have not spoken (nor was I ever contact by) a friend that I had known for 5 years who didn't bother to show-up or even call or e-mail me. I am sure he is ashamed and guilty because of his tasteless actions but I don't care. I don't need that type of person in my life.

So I just want to tell you that I understand how you feel.

I dont know about any drama..I somehow missed all of that..but I think its very nice of you to invite people from here..sorry you had a hard time.
